Is a long story but to cut it short, I can't get back my money now. I was being setup as boyfriend and gal friend. The girl pretending to be my gal friend told me that she was in financial difficulty and ask me to help her out by swaping my credit card in advance first after which she will pay me back at end of month. She bought herself clothes, shoes & bags which amounted to RM4.5K. It is only through trust and verbal agreement i agreed to help her out. Later on I found out that she was cheating me of my money. Right now, she refuses to settle her debt and even threaten to file sexual harassment report against me not unless I cancel off her debt. I thought of taking this to small claims court but then I was told that if I do not have any written agreement to support my claim it will be of no use. I do have recording evidence but was told it cannot be accepted as an evidence. Has anyone come across this situation before? I do not know what to do now. *sigh* Any advise is welcomed.

I checked my credit report and there are two collections account for $313. Apparently the one was bought out by the other company earlier this year. I called and asked what the debt was for and they said it was an ATT account back in 1998 and told me the address and phone number it was for. I never lived at that address, never had that phone number, never had an account with them. i found hundreds of complaints filed at ripoffreport.com and on BBB by others stating they have same thing on their credit report. I want to make sure that I have these removed.

Hi, I am 18, live on my own and have a job and I want a credit card. The only problem is, I have no credit and have been refused by The bay, Canadian Tire, Mastercard and Capital one.

I use a pre paid mastercard when I have to purchase online or over the phone but that is annoying because I have to deposit money into it all the time. I am a little leary because I love to shop and I mainly want to buy really expensive jewelry, clothes, etc. that I can't afford to pay with in cash!

Are credit cards good? Do you think they are necessary? What are some good websites where I can apply for a credit card? My bank is CIBC and I am in Canada.

So- where does the money go? Will my credit card have a negative balance??
This is such a stupid question but it's my first credit card!!

Has anyone ever had good results when asking a cc company to reduce their intrest rate, or do a debt negotiation? (example: an APR of 19.99% that was reduced... or a balance of $3500 negotiated to $2900 and paid in full) If so, which company was this with? I am looking to do this, and want to know my chances of success.

Unfortunately I have been another victim of identity theft. Because of that I placed a "fraud alert" on my credit report, contacted the local police, and contacted all three credit bureaus. Now the problem is that the fradulent accounts removed keeps coming back to my credit report everytime I have them remove it and the thief is still on the loose. how do I bring this person to justice? do I just go to court ?? and what kind of lawyer do I need for this or where can I find a lawyer that specializes in this case? I would really appreciate if someone could help me solve this problem because I have to worry about it every night and it makes me depressed.

I got a call from a debt collector stating that I had an outstanding credit card from me and my ex husband from back in 95' that was sent to collections and is fixing to be turned over to an attorney. Needless to say they were very rude however, they are telling me that if I settle now they will cut the debt in half which would be $2000 but I am clueless to what is going on. He said that he doesn't have to show me any documentation showing me charges or signatures but something seeems fishy to me, how can I investigate this call it came from financial credit services but when I look them up on the web they are a Medical collection agency out of florida, this one is out of Pallatine Illinois.HELP!

I applied for a Panasonic credit card through GE Consumer Finance and got a response "unverifiable applicant information." I called Equifax. They couldn't tell me what that was. I wrote to GE Finance with a copy to Panasonic Marketing Department, both certified mail. GE resent me the same letter and Panasonic never responded.
This is the first time I have ever been turned down for credit. What's going on?

I have a debt of 28,000, and a loan for it for 12.99% for 96 months (611.00 payment). I have been thinking about transferring the debt to credit cards: 16000 at 1.9% for 8 months then 16.99% after, and the rest to a 5.99% fixed amount. Should I transfer the debt or keep it under the 12.99% loan?

Hi - I'm in the UK. I had a credit card statement for £600 a couple of months ago. I paid £550, and the following month the credit card company charged me the full interest on £600. Is this normal?

I would of thought I'd get charged interest on the £50 outstanding.

By the end of this year, I will have all of my insallment loans paid off except for my mortgage. I have 2 credit cards that will be in good standing, low balances and all that. I want to build my credit to get the best rate I can to build a house in about 2 years. Am I going to need another installment loan on my credit report to have a good enough score? Or will the mortgage and credit cards suffice?
