In our very small condo complex (9 units), we have one unit owner who cannot pay the common charges. A long story but the synopsis is that her husband left, she lost her job again. While married her husband went though all her savings leaving her with nothing but debts. Now he is even refusing to pay child support. We have been carring her off and on for about four years. We are having a meeting tonight to see how we are going to handle this situation. We know we can put a lien on if she sells, we doubt she has much equity, I think she has tapped out every resource. We could get a lawyer, but she has no money left. We could also evict her--but who wants that on their head. What would you do? Need some suggestions.

My friend's parents are in debt 2 Million dollars because of some bad investments. They are trying to pay the mortgage on their home. The mortgage is 10k per month. The husband just lost his job and the wife doesn't make enough to cover the mortgage. What are their options? They are asking my friend to give them $2,500 a month for an indefinite amount of time. I told her to tell them to file bankruptcy. What do you think? Please help.

I am always wondering about credit card companies. For example, let me say, someone has a card which has a value of $10,000 or more. What if s/he buy what ever s/he wents with all this money and leave the country. What guarantee do they have so that s/he won't leave the country?

the credit card was only in her name(no joint or authorized user)so the company is saying that since the house was in both mom and dads name he is responsible to pay her debt(9,500) because he can sell, mortgage the house to pay the debt.she left nothing, They say its texas law.

I want to pay off my credit cards because they are such high interest. I have late payments in my history, so I want to build up my credit again. Do I really need credit cards to do this? I hate the idea of owing money. I thought about getting a credit card, using it and then paying it off each month - but I was told that wouldn't help my credit. What should I do?

There are two types debt management programs. One is where a company negotiates lower interest rates, you pay them, then they pay all your credit cards every month.. The other type is a company that negotiates a settlement for less than amount owed. This company just pays one card at a time, and get them paid off quicker than the first option. Which type is worse to have on your credit report?

I went through a divorce last month, and I am now 12,000 dollars in debt. I could only get 50 dollars a month from my ex which isn't much. I have 4 major bills and the highest bill is 5900 dollars, because it is a military credit card and I am not in the army anymore they are saying to my credit counseling service that they will be taking all my taxes. My ex husband sold all my furniture and I have nothing left, with a 300 dollar car that won't make it through the winter. I have a 1 year old son and have no home of my own and have been sleeping on my moms couch for over a year now. I can't even pay 30% for low income housing because I don't make that much money. I am with two different credit management programs. one suppose to be settling 3 of my debts and my military starz card is with a different credit agency called fisc, and they are saying that my starz card will just take taxes, the other credit service doesn't seem to be doing much because i keep getting interest on these card.

I recently posted a message regarding my problem with Welcome finance. Anyway I would like to know if it is possible to get an advance/loan of £1,000 in week even with bad credit including having my house repossessed. I would also like to know as a keyworker in London, will I still be able to get a mortgage with my poor credit report. There are new homes coming up for sale in South London in about a couple of months, on a part rent and part buy scheme. If I can't get a mortgage is there anything I could do to get myself back on the property ladder?
