I had fallen 3 months behind on my mortgage payment, when I was laid off a few months ago. I do not have a lot of debt. 1 credit card and normal monthly bills that are NOT excessive. I just cannot catch up on my mortgage! Do I have any refinancing , or small loan options even if my mortgage is late???

Im trying to raise my credit score . My score now is 640. My mom is willing to add me as her authorized using on a "Avenue" credit card. The card was opened in 1991, but its says on her credit report, open, paid as agreed, never late but inactive. Should I be added as an authorized user even though its inactive? And I only have 2 years of credit history.

I hear about it all the time but really don't know the difference between the two. Could you also give some examples of both? Thanks for the help!

Every site I go to wants you to join something and pay by credit card. I don't HAVE a credit card...lol... I thought a law was passed or something where you could get your credit score on request.

I have a collection from a finance company. That collection is listed as sold on my credit file. When the company sells a debt, does that date of the statute of limitation restart when the buying company recieves, or is it the original date. Basically, will it be on my file for 7 years, from when the debt was incurred, or 7 years from when it was sold to the second company.

That is my score, but I own a home and make over $40,000 a year. I was 30 days late on my house payment 1 time. I have one charge-off from 3 years ago, when i was broke, and 2 old phone/tv bills(collection accts.) that were from college (4-5 years ago). I have only one recent (within 3 years) collection acct.. I just got my report, and I want to buy a new vehicle. Am I screwed??!!

I had an account with this company and was making the payments the best that I could. Anyway it was charged off and now the agency that is handling it has had me served with court papers. Is it too late to work out a payment plan and what measures can I take to keep this from going to court?

I went to California and saw this a lot. I was once told that this was not legal (Federal Law). Is this a fact or not?
