I have a book that states you can request the credit bureau's to add good credit ...say if Equifax has a good credit item listed but Trans does not, you can request Trans to put it on there.....my question is this.....what if the acct is a closed account? Will they still add it? Or does it have to be an open acct?

a friend of mine is in a bind. please give any advice you my have. her mom, who is "old fashioned" has always depended on using cash and has never appllied for a credit card, or needed to apply for a loan, buy a home, or anything that required a credit check. that is until two months ago, when my friends mom and her went to the bank to try and have her mom co-sign for a small business loan. her mom should have been approved right? but the bank said that her credt was very bad. this is when they ordered a report from a credit agency..... they found out that someone in the human resources department of where her mom works that has a known gambling problem used her mom's information to apply for credit and list her name as "AKA". this means that my friends mom would have her credit and her reputaion damaged right?

please help me to help my friend. what can we do about this person who used my friend's mom's identity as her own??????

is this what you call identity theft???

I use my credit card to buy stuff (shopping, electronics etc). There are times I'm not happy with my purchase so I have to return it. Will it hurt my credit points?

I just got my FIRST credit card. If I pay it off every month for 6 months will this take up my credit score drastically? How many points do you get for each outstanding debt you pay off?

I just bought a Honda Civic Coupe and put some money down and financed 10,000. I got 6.99% financing over 60 months - my credit score was in the high 600s. Is this a good interest rate? The car salesman actually started me with 7.99% but I resisted.

I'm in dilemma between these 2 credit cards that I just received.

1st Card:

-8% APR (fixed)
-3500 points ($1 = 1 point) is equal to 25 dollars cash back. (less than 1% cash back).

2nd Card:

-13.24% APR (variable, not fixed)
-2500 points ($1=1 point) is equal to $25 cash back (1% cash back).

I'm planning to use this for 5 years or so. I have a good credit - no balances.

Which one is a better offer?

Thanks!

What would we have to do to get an apartment? How do we get credit? If our credit isn't bad because we haven't used it, can we still be approved? Would we have to co-sign with a person with credit?
