what do you mean it doesn't work? You mean you couldn't access the site? try again.
If you use another site for a "free" credit report, you have to sign up for a credit watch or some other service, which is not free.
If you have any questions about annualcreditreport.com, please email me (click on my name). I'd be happy to help.

If you apply for a credit card and are rejected, then they have to send you a free credit report as an explaination as to why... They give you that option somewhere in the rejection letter. You just have to take them up on it. Otherwise, all of the 'free' options that I am aware of are attached to expensive subscription services.

HOW didn't it work? The site didn't show up? It wouldn't accept your data? They asked for credit card info?
Here's a link to the correct site:

I heard you can go apply at a car dealership and request a copy of your report afterwards, but remember this can reflect negatively on your credit score as an credit inquiry.

I haven't had a problem with it, but you can go to the individual bureaus website and request your report there.

http://www.annualcreditreport.com is federally sanctioned. And don't go go to that freecreditreport sight. That was misinformation on the part of the previous answerer

www.annualcreditreport.com worked great for me. You can only use it once a year though. Have you used it within the last year?
