I've recently been filling out applications and I decided not to post most of my work history. These jobs that I did not post were held for less than 2 months or ones I felt were not relevant. When they run my background check, will they see all jobs I've had?

i work at a fast food resrtaunt right now. i have an interveiw at a video store on tuesday. they pay alot more, and its going to be worth it if i get hired. but i want to start right away. but i still want to give the restraunt a 2 week notice. what should i do?

i usually only work nights at the restaunt, so i have considered asking for morning hours for the first 2 weeks at the video store, and still work nighttimes at the restruant..is this a good plan?

I am working in IT, but would like to quit IT if possible. I am under 35 years of age. I would be interested in other line of work. I'd like to get your suggestions for something that does not take that much training, and legal high paying line of work. I don't care if it's dangerous.

However, I exclude going to Afghanistan or Iraq as a Army enlistee. That would not be the type of life I want to live.

OK, im filling out an application to GameStop. This is my first ever application to fill out and it says:

List 2 references below that we may contact who are familiar with your work performance. Use personal reference, (Not Relatives), only if you have no employment references.

So what I'm asking is, what does that mean? Do i put my mom and dad as references? Or do i put friends?

I'm hoping to get a job over winter break, but I would only be able to work for about a month. Is there any place (i.e. department store, restaurants, etc.) that would hire if I tell them I can only work for a short period of time? Has anyone else done this? Thanks.

Also, do you work full time, or part time?

It sounds kind of snotty to say, but I don't know what else to think at this point. My boss is an ok guy but he cannot grasp ideas or concepts as quickly as I can....he works very slowly, and the tiniest change freaks him out. He'll literally start to turn red and clench his fists like a 3 year old in the midst of a tantrum. He gets very frustrated when he tries to explain something to me that I already get. If I come up with an idea or a solution to an issue too quickly, he'll initially tell me no, don't do it that way, then try to figure it out himself, only to conclude that I was right in the first place. It's a delicate situation because I don't want to offend him or piss him off, but I can't really slow my thought process down to please him, and I shouldn't have to--I mean, I thought productivity was kind of a key component to business, you know? Has anyone ever had a similar experience? If so, how did you handle it?

Ok let's say that there's a job opening and there are 2 applicants.

1. A man who graduated magna *** laude from an unknown university and got a Masters from another unknown university. But he has 30 years of experience.

2. A man who was valedictorian of his high school class who got his MBA from Harvard yesterday. He also has a PhD from Yale. During undergraduate study he graduated Summa *** Laude. However he has minimal work experience.

Who would you hire?

Ok, so I was fired from my last job because customers complained that I was rude. I was never out-right rude to someone I'm just a quiet person and I think alot of people take that as I'm being rude to them. So now I need to find a new job how would I tell my potential boss about this without sounding like I'm really bad at customer service. Also, when I asked my last boss what should I say when I get asked for the reason I was terminated he said that he doesn't know, just whatever I can think of. They said they will give me a good reference I just dont know how to put this without sounding like someone they shouldn't hire.

I'm applying for a job as a library assistant which I really want, it fits in well with my history degree, is part time (I have a young baby so I want a part time job) and is very local.

What sort of qualities would I have to highlight? I have to fill in a section on "work experience, interests etc" and tell them about "myself, my future career plans ans show how this makes me suitable for the job.

Any suggestions? I have a history degree, have worked mainly as a temporary secretar/typist up till now, but also as a shop assistant (serving the public). I have a one year old son who is already a member of the library, I enjoy reading and use the library regularly for myself and also baby books for my son.

I hate filling in application forms because I never know how to "sell" myself! Help!

I am thinking of leaving home when I turn 18 because of serious issues at home. I am currently 15 and I need to start thinking about how to make money to financially support myself. I live in Japan right right now and go to a private international school here. I really want to go to a college in America. I know I need to find jobs already at this time, but the problem is my parents don't let me go outside the house alone or socialize with my friends (meaning I can't find any excuses to go outside the house). Then, I thought doing jobs on the internet would do. However, I came to realize that even if I do find a job, the money would either be transfered to a bank or through mail. Since my parents do not allow me to work, I certainly wouldn't want them finding out about this. I really can't find any solution.I can't seem to sleep or focus on anything because of the things happening to me.Advice on how to be able to live independantly, what to take care of and money wud rly be appreciated
