I have worked for my dad in construction on and off sense I was 8, mostly in the summers and have bin given the keys to the work place. (I mostly worked In a retirement community for people 55 and older, where I built the houses and cleaned and helped up-keep the place. There is also and wetland stream, thats 10ish feet wide that runs about 3/4 of a mile long. I cleaned yearly because algae infested it.)

For the past year I have run sound for my church( setting up and tearing down the stage by myself, and mixing the music. I also have bin trusted to the keys to the church.

So do think I could get a job in places like
subway, game stop, and other businesses in that category.

I am 15 and turn 16 on Feb 6, I have looked into the laws and I would be able to legally work where I live and the places I am applying for

thanks a bunch

I asked for Christmas off a couple months ago. I am Roman Catholic and I practice my faith. My boss told me I'm going to have to work Christmas. I'm very upset about this. I was thinking of quitting or giving my two-weeks notice because of this. Am I being unreasonable? What should I do? Thanks for any replies.

My recruiter called me today and said that I passed the interview. However, I will find out if I'll get hire or not after she run my background check. I'm really really worried and nervous right now. I pretty sure that I don't have any criminal records, but I'm worry on my credit check. I don't know my credit score, but I knew that it pretty low due to my late payments and over limits for last couple of years. However, I've been trying to make my payment on time for the last year (although I still have some late payment because I was jobless) until now. I hope I can get this stable job in order to pay off my bills (please don't get me wrong that I want to steal money from the bank ok!), and it part of my careers too. Now I'm afraid that I won't get hire if they see my credit score is too low.

Do you think they will not hire me because of this? Do you know how they will judge on my credit background??

I have this SUPER easy job but I screw up alot (unintentionally). I got the last straw when I realized 2day when I got from work that I wrote all the dates of 2day on 2 dcmbr when we're the 3rd. I don't want my suprvisor to keep me cuz she feels sry 4 me. Is it a good idea if I tell her I screwed up AND that I understand if she fires me?

If I was my supervisor I'd honestly fire me. So is it a good or bad idea to tell her that she can fire me because I know I screw up alot?
Sry if I'm asking this alot..

I like him very much as a friend but I have apprehensions about working directly for him because I don't want our friendship to suffer. Could this work? What would I have to do or say to make this be successful? Has anyone ever done this and maintained a good friendship with the friend? Again, it has the potential to be a a very well paid position. Advice please?

with the way THEY do things. i have been in this trade (cabinetry) for 12 years, i have more experience then anyone there except the owner and one other person but there tools and machines are different and the way they build and install there cabinets is different then they way i have always done it so i have to become familiar with these new processes. this to me seems perfectly normal but for some reason some people there insist on treating me like i am an idiot and constantly question my experience and ability as if they cant even comprehend that i might be unfamiliar with certain things. i am so frustrated by this and its so offensive to me but i don't really know how to addr4ess it. i don't even want to work there at this point on account of the lack of respect people show me. should i just be completely blunt with them and tell them there out of line for there comments or is it a better show of strength and maturity to just let it go.

I am in a dispute with my former employer regarding unemployment benefits. I don't know what the human resources department will say about me and I have thought about asking prospective employers not to contact them. What do managers usually think when you ask them not to contact your previous employer?

Every interview book I have read has always said delay the conversation of salary until later in the interview, or wait until the employer brings it up. But, I just finished my second interview and we still did not discuss salary or benefits at all. I know they are interviewing 2 more people today and they said they will make their decision this week, but I dont know what they will offer me if I get this position. I heard rumors that it pays $45-$50k, which is acceptable to me, but I never confirmed this with them. Do you think it is bad that this has not yet been discussed? Will I be disappointed by the offer?

I need advice. I currently work part time and go to school full time. I really need extra money and I want to maybe start working full time or 35 hours a week. I really like the job I am at right now but I need extra money and they do not have the full time hours I want/need. Should I look somewhere else? I am just sick of always being broke. I just need extra cash.

I graduated with my BArch, but I was unable to intern while I was in school (I have a family and couldn't move for 2 months in the summer, then I got pregnant in my last year of school). I am finding it difficult to find a job since I don't have experience, even though I have a good portfolio and excellent grades. I also have experience working with AutoCAD and REVIT... just not actual internships. The school I graduated from won't give internship information to non-current students. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The job is in NYC, and when asked I gave the salary requirment of $45,000, probably what I would require in my hometown but not the big apple. They want to bring me in for an interview but I don't think I could live off that salary there, am I stuck?

While the slackers are considered the cool ones.

I work the night shift and I got sick of this one particular co-worker (who relieves me) ALWAYS coming in late. So I wrote a memo to the supervisor. And now I am the rat!!

Not fair!

My husband worked for Business A for 1 day just helping out in the shop. At the time, he was working reduced hours at his regular job. The hours at his normal job picked up the following week, so he never ended up working for Business A again. He filled out the normal paperwork W-4s, etc and was paid a couple weeks later with a check that didn't have a stub. We didn't think to make a photocopy of it, and our bank doesn't have a copy of the deposited check.

My husband filed for unemployment again a few weeks ago. He then received a letter in the mail wanting proof of his employment with Business A since they are claiming he never worked there. My husband contacted the employer and he is not willing to give him anything (a copy of the check, statement). DWD is only willing to accept a check or something similiar (W2s) as proof he worked there.

It seems that we are at a standoff. What do we do? Is there any course of action that we have?
