This sounds really stupid, but I don't know and I have a job interview tomorrow. They want me to bring proof that I can legally work in the US. I'm over the age of 18, so what do they need?

So I found out from one of my coworkers that my managers at work have been saying some unflattering things about me. I'm a cashier, and they think I call them up front to help me with things too much. This is my first time working retail, and I've only worked there for a month, so I don't know everything...and if I screw up something with a sale then that's a lost customer. I've been especially paranoid since my manager cornered me one day to tell me that my register was $20 short the last time I worked. I know I didn't take the money, but I still felt like crap.

Also, everyone else working there is really outgoing and will say whatever comes to mind, whereas I'm more reserved around people I don't know that well...I guess they see that as a bad thing. What should I do?

I work full time 8 to 5 during the week. I'd prefer not to give up my weekends for a part time job, but I'm willing to work a couple nights a week somewhere to pick up some extra money. What can I do? NO RETAIL.

Then I ended up calling off four days because I sprained my foot 2months later. And gave them a doctor's note. Today I didnt feel like going to work at all so I called it. My mom thinks I'm going to get fired do you think that poissble. I mean I'm just a kind and I dont want to work all the time. I need to know what someone else thinks. I missed maybe 6 days in a 4month period.

I need to take 3 days off to care for an ailing relative returning from the hospital. I have 2 weeks vacation time beginning at the start of the new year, if I chose to take the rest of the week off (since the first is a holiday) can my job have me fired? They are aware of the seriousness of this relatives condition but I have only worked there 8 months - though I had a satisfactory probation period. I am eligible for most benefits now including vacation, which I was able to start after 6 months of service. Should I take the time or not risk it?

I cannot think of what to say so say yes and yep when they ask me something. I have to carefully think out what to say and when I say it, it is not very confident.

No amount of preparation makes me any better at this. The more I prepare, the more nervous they say I am.

I try very hard to do well but they say I do not have communication skills, or I am too nervous or unprepared. I take all the criticism on to try and learn but it always turns out the same.

I try and dress nicely, smile and be nice but no matter what I do it does not work. They are sizing me up and I feel intimidated. In the end I don't end up going to the interview. It is far too stressful for me. I would rather not work at all, because it is all too much for me but need to.
What can I do?

In retail jobs, the workers are always lazy. They do not look presentable meaning their hair, clothes, and makeup is a mess, and they always have the nastiest attitude. How do they get the jobs? I've been applying to retail stores for a while, I have experience, and still no luck. When I go on interview, no call back. I'm 17, very beautiful, mature, well dressed, intelligent, and meticulous. People have told me that all of my life but still the managers in these stores don't consider me. I work FAST, and I follow instructions. I am nice to people and very polite. Sometimes I think that I act too professional for the managers. They seem to like bold, and reckless people. It makes me feel sad and angry when I see the type of people who actually do get the jobs but hard working people dont. Do you know why that is?

I manage a pub, im 24 and have an amazing team behind me. But recently hired this woman who now turns out to be a bit crazy. Its like she has a split personality. She also has a major problem taking direction from someone younger than her. When i ask her to do something she point blank refuses.

She has had verbal warnings and now a written one. The next step is to fire her but i've been told by several people that she can be violent so if i sack her who's to say she wont do something? She has already said to one of the staff that she LOVES this pub and one day will be the manager even if she has to "dispose" of me first... I would naturally have a witness present for the firing but what about after?

What is the best way to deal with this? Its obvious she has to leave but hows best to do it?

I am only in high school at this point but will be entering college soon. In high school I have taken many courses dealing with wildlife, animals, and biology.
The job I really want is to be a wildlife biologist or zoo keep/zoologist. But these careers don't have a high salary.

Or I could attempt vet school which is very competitive and would be a job I would only half like (I'm not into medical careers) but with a high income.

Alot of pressure from my parents. To be a vet.
Any advice? What would you choose?

So I'm 14 and I'm 5'4 and i've been looking into modeling. I know that i'm WAY too short to runway model because you've got to be what...atleast 5'7? hah. And i doubt I'll grow that much, SO, I've been thinking about doing commerical modeling. How would I go about that? I live about an hour from Philadelphia near Lehigh Valley...how do I find jobs? I really don't know if it would be worth getting an agent yetbecause I don't really know a whole lot about the field and I know they're a heckof a lot of money, and I don't know if it's 'for me' yet, ya know? So how do I find jobs near me without an agent? I know I would have to get headshots and that's not a problem, what else do I need to do? Also, am I too SHORT for commerical? I know that 5'4 isn't incredibly short...but you never know. Any help would be great. Thanks!

He has education up to first class bachelors degree (civil engineering) from India.

Now, in the UK he only has experience in the labour manufacturing sector, but since last Christmas after a minor car accident, he cannot purse work in this sector.

Now, at 50+ years of age, he is finding it difficult to find a job due to lack of experience of any other sector.

He is looking to do something full time, maybe something office based. He has good organisation skills and has basically self taught himself to be very good with computing (he's achieved ECDL and is pursuing ECLD advanced for qualifications). But no-one seems to want to give him a go!!!

He doesn't have the money to start up something from scratch and has tried agencies (even 50+ specialist ones) but lack of experience and age seems to put him at a disadvantage everywhere!

Any ideas or advice out there?! (Seriously, because believe me, he is trying so hard!)

I used to work at a science centre. I had had no previous experience in working with wild animals. I was nervous to start but very passionate about doing well.
Unfortunately, one morning when I was misting some of the habitats and cleaning the water dishes, a small amount of bleach water had been left on the counter where I had placed one of the bowls. The following morning, one of the tree frogs had died. I understand that the gravity of one, tiny tree frog dying may not seem very bad to most of you, but where my job was concerned, I probably appeared to be unprofessional, maybe even "immature". The fact of the matter is that I took it upon myself to complete the morning tasks before everyone arrived and simply made a mistake. I was then transferred elsewhere to finish my credit.
I'm now looking to volunteer at an animal refuge centre where she also works. How should I approach this situation? What if she recognizes me and makes me look bad to everyone else? What if she mentions it?

I am from a foreign country and have a very empty resumee since work is so scarce there. Now I finished my studies here and I am not the youngest anymore either, but I do not have any work experience whatsoever. I just worked part-time and temp jobs in my life to get by, but won't get any reference for that. Would I be better off making up places I worked at before?
