Once a week someone will bring their dog into the office. I do not have a dog but I have a pet snake. I don't think this is fair, it should be called, "bring your pet to work day" and allow any animal to come to work for the day? I think it's discriminatory towards other animals not to include them in the fun. Yes people may be afraid of my snake but one girl in the office is afraid of dogs but she deals with it. The office is large and I can just imagine all the exercise my snake will get. How do I convince my boss to let my pet have some fun as well?

I want to get a new job when I graduate in May. I've got a full time job now and it's good but it's not in my field and it's pretty much a dead end. Ideally I want to leave my current job in June and start a new one in August/September so I can have a summer vacation. Would I be better off looking for a job now and trying to negotiate terms like this, or should I just wait until the summer? I don't want to have to spend my whole summer break searching for a job because I don't have one lined up...

I've heard anywhere from 2-10 years. All of the jobs on my resume has been extended as far as how long I've worked there. I did this so I can get hired quicker. Most of the jobs I've held were customer service positions and they come and go, so I really have 5months here and 3months there. What would you do in this case and is that the best route to take by me stretching the dates??

I recently got fired because of a ***** of a duty manager complaining about me eating a sandwich I hadn't paid for (no money).I'm currently appealing against the "formal dismissal" but the big problem is (as you all know) it's right before Christmas so I can't get Christmas temp. jobs let alone permanent part-time work.

So two things:
1. How long should I leave it before I actually check they've got my appeal letter? (It's been four days now)
2. ANY ideas for making money? (Besides selling my body/ sperm/ organs etc, didn't turn out well the last couple of time =P jokes)

I'm sitting here, being pissed at my boss for being such an a**hole lately, thinking of things I would like to say. Pretty sure there are others out there who would like to unload on their boss......go ahead and let it out!!

I just found out I have an interview on Friday, and it's a step up from my current job. But of course, I could possibly not get the job. If I call in sick, they will want me to work from home, but I will be unable to because I will be at the interview all day. (3 hour drive). If I tell him that I have an interview and I am going to it no matter what, can they fire me? They cannot fire someone from going to an interview for a different job can they? I have been there 10 years, so I don't think they would fire me, but they make start looking to replace me.

Are stuck together on the same professional team. Some of them are hard working and sharp. Some are hard working and slow. Some of them are just horrid backstabbers who either do a poor job or spend all their time trying to sabotage someone else's work.

One is a former boss who doesn't want the reposibility anymore but thinks anyone else is doing the job wrong. He's sharp and can get the job done but whines constantly. Another is a guy who wants the boss title but doesn't want to actually do the job. He's slow. A good salesman if marketing provides him with good material. He's just a talking head, he doesn't actually understand what he's saying most of the time. The problem is he wants to move up but he's not competent.

You can't fire anyone or transfer anyone at this time. How do you begin to pull the team together and get the most out of the employees?

I am a young woman looking for a decent paying job that doesn't require any college. I am currently a bank teller and they do not pay enough. i want a job that i can move around alot because i like staying busy and not sitting or standing in one place all day. i love dealing with cash and am good at multi-tasking and using computers. i don't mind getting dirty but i don't want a man's job because i don't want to be known as a bull-dike. does anyone have any idea at what kind of job would be good for me?

I have been out of a job for about 4 months now. I keep getting call backs from my resume but I have been told that it is better to meet people face to face and hand them my resume versus just mailing it to the address listed in the want ads.

I have also thought that because a company doesnt have a want ad listed they probably arent looking to hire. What is the point of going to places that are not hiring?
