To be completely honest, I don't want to head straight for the managers job. I don't have those skills, I'd much rather work my way up the ladder.

I have an interview today and I know one of the questions is going to be what are your three weaknesses. Honestly I can not think of any. I'm sure I have some, for example chocolate and puppies, but I can not say that in a job interview. Please help by telling me some of yours.. Thanks

I'm remembering some jobs I had a long time ago as a ticketseller at an old, one-screen movie theatre & at an amusement park. Also, a lot of people at reception desks or information desks look like they have nothing to do much of the time. (I'm not as lazy as I sound; I'm looking for a way to pay the bills while maximizing the time I can spend working on my novel.)

Alright here's whats happening, I sent about 10 resumes out on Monday and got a response for two jobs by Wednesday (today) and one of them, i have an interview for tomorrow. The thing is, the work hours really aren't what i am looking for, but i am desperate for a job in the finance industry and this jobs gives me exposure. The thing is, this job starts on Monday and over the phone, it sounded like they were kind of desperate to get me to start work asap. . I sent out 10 resumes and have only got back two responses so far (2days) so i do expect more in the coming week or so. I don't want to start and then have to leave the job if i find something better for me. Since this job isn't my first choice, i want to know what kind of options i have.

My niece has just received a job offer in the city where I live. She would like to relocate here. She had a phone interview with the president of a company here and I noticed in the string of emails (which she sent me) that she sent him two recent pictures. He must have asked her for them over the phone, because I didn't see a request in the chain of emails.

She is coming to town this week to meet the employer (the president) and the rest of the people she would be working with. I realize that having only had phone contact, that he might be curious as to what she looked like. But I didn't like that she sent him pictures. Am I being too paranoid?

Please, serious answers only.

Hi,

Should I apply again for an job that I scheduled an interview with, but then backed out and left a message that I decided not to persue the position. Today they posted the position again on their website, and I was having second thoughts. Stupid of me to cancel, I know. What do you all think?

Thanks.

I'm the only receptionist there is for the company. the girl from accounts payable is supposed to cover me everyday for my lunch which is supposed to be an hour long and 2, 15 min brakes and whenever i need to use the rest room. This is my issues this girl though I can understand sometimes shes busy has only covered me for about 20 min for lunch and its usually about 2pm or 3pm when she finally get around o covering me and this has become an everyday thing. When I ask her to cover me for the restroom it usually takes her from 15 to 20 min to come cover me if she remembers. and my brakes well i havent taken a 15 min brake in a long time. Plus lately she's been acting like she's upset with me because she has to cover me. Is this fair should i be feeling bad i mean i help her file and type lables i help her get checks ready and document i take written messages for all of her calls make call's for her aside from my work so she has time to cover me i feel like theyre taking advange

I have play clothes, levis, and shorts and t-shirts, but I don't really have any "middle" clothes. When I dress, I wear designer clothes that are very expensive. I have never thought about buying "dockers" or some thing like that. Should I do it? I can't get a job, and my thinking is , I go into an interview, and my clothes cost more than the H.R. guys annual salary. So, should I go to Jaques Penney and get some "middle class" wardrobes? And should I trade in my Jaguar for a , I don't know, a Ford Taurus or something? I really need a job. And I don't think these folks think I need a job when they see me pull up in a jag and hop out in an Armani suit. But, yeah, I need a job, because in the pockets of this Armani suit, there is barely enough cash to afford the McDonald's dollar menu. Seriously, how should I dress? And how do I make the interviewer not self-concious?

...that I do not live too far away for the job I applied for? I live in a small town and everyone pretty much drives close to an hour for a job. The job I applied for is only 38 minutes away but he thinks this is too far for me to drive. Is there anyway to get him to understand I will have to drive that if not more for any job I choose?

I got a call around 4pm yesterday with the job offer, we discussed salary, start date etc and they want me to start in exactly two weeks. They said they would type up an official letter and email it over to me. I have not recieved the official letter yet, but needed to give my 2 weeks yesterday, so I did. I guess he really has had only 2 working hours since we spoke (it is 9:30am here) to type this up. Should I be worried that I have not recieved the letter confirming the salary and start date yet? Should I have waited until I got this to give my notice?

My employment history is four estate agents (redundancy each time) an investment company (which folded) and a telecommunications company which i left after a year due to my job not going anywhere. All this in 4 years.

I'm desperately looking for a new position. Currently working at NHS Direct but i literally can't work with my boss any longer. She used to be a PA in London and she's still a PA but not in London. She needs to realise things are very different in the suburbs!!

Should I continue with this job for a while longer or look for a different job in the same organisation?
