I have down time at work sometimes and we are not allowed to go online. What are some things I can do to look busy and keep occupied?

Pick up a broom, duster, start cleaning organizing, fix your office up. Fix those little things that no one has time for.
Ask others who look busy if they need help.
Worst thing in the world is to have nothing to do! This is like a cold, when one has it spreads to everyone else. Do it because you want to, and others will notice.
Now get busy doing something, anything :0)
Idle hands is the devils playground.

If you are content and just looking to pass the time, I would say balance your checkbook, read a magazine (maybe one that pertains to the industry where you work), handheld video games, do crossword or other word puzzles, read the newspaper, organize your purse, create grocery shopping lists.
Or you can try to do things that pertain to work. Ask someone else if they need help with a project or whatever. Ask your supervisor to give you some more responsibilities.

Read a book, write a book on things to do when you are bored, at home go to your favorite websites, print out some info off of it and read later at work, make your family/boyfriend Christmas projects, talk on the phone, imagine your customers or co-workers naked-or in bed with you, which ever is funner or funnier. Ask your boss for extra work to do on down time, it will show you care about your job and she/he will find you something or if there is no work it will leave a good impression. Paint your nails, listen to music, get a zune and watch videos, make a phone list out of the phone book on your most important/most used numbers and laminate it. come up with dumb songs or rhymes to spit at your friends/boyfriend to annoy them, pop your pimples, go to the bathroom and sit, clean something, take candy and eat it. Call your mom or dad. Write out your christmas cards to mail out. Write your christmas list for people you will buy for and things you want... hope it helps!!

It depends on what kind of job you have. Is it an office job? It's easy to look busy at an office job - do personal finances (have excel open; looks like you're doing real work), write stories or blogs in Word; looks like you're writing up reports. Things like that.

Help another worker at your work
Crossword puzzles or a wordsearch book.
Get an electronic gaming device.Even those ones that let you play hang man and stuff liek that.
Eat ( lol jk)
Talk on your cell
Draw if your creative and doodle in a sketch book
Write if you enjoy in a journal or somthing

How much downtime do you have? If it's too much, you might want to start questioning your value to the company, or even the company's own viability.
Also, what do you do? Not knowing what your work environment is, it's tough to provide an answer.
