In the professional environment, there are three kinds of people you will have to manage:
you superiors, your peers and your juniors.
You should understand that even though your manager is not qualified,he would be having more experience or other skills.
Do your work with integrity & you will see good things come around for you.
Be nice to your manager, don't treat him/her like trash because (s)he is not qualified.
For growth in a company,it is important to not only have skills but it is also important to manage people around you.
If you cannot tolerate him anymore ,then change your job!!
If you think you are better than your boss then why don't you look for another job where bosses are more qualified.
you have a choice to make.

ha, I am hopeless at this. Being profession is not about experience and qualifications but how you act. I work in information technology and often I have a boss who reads some computer magazines and decides they know everything and starts making decisions.

Here is the problem, they don't want you to be competent, they don't want you to argue, they don't want to look bad (so if they tell you to do something stupid, and you do it then you will get the blame).

So unless you plan to kill your boss or change jobs, it is better to mostly say yes (something I can't really do). Give your boss information to make choices, don't make choices. Say yes, then when you do the job, change how you do it (say, "Oh, I had to change it this way when I was doing it" or "oh this is only temporary, I will change it to your later".

Also bring problems to your boss. Bosses like to feel they are better than employees. If you are right all the time or fix their problems, they feel insecure...but if they always have to help you then they feel useful.

Do your job well, gain recognition and apply for a position in another department.
