To be completely honest, I don't want to head straight for the managers job. I don't have those skills, I'd much rather work my way up the ladder.

So is there any point in doing an MA?

I have an MA....So far it hasn't helped but still do an MA because you will only benefit. For example, you will be more likely to be promoted etc. It also depends on what field of work you wish to go into and what company you apply to. Many companies will offer more wages to you if you have an MA while for others, they will not care. It also depends on the MA subject itself.

Doing an MBA is far more rewarding than doing an MA. But still I would 100% reccommend you to do an MA.

It depends on what the degree is in. For psychology for example, a masters is pretty much required to get a decent job. In most fields though, you are probably better off getting job experience - it'll probably do more for you than the MA.

Most people don't get into management anyway until they've been a worker first for awhle, so your goals are realistic.

Masters? Yes, it does. People are looking for more education. It doesn't mean you will get paid more. It jsut helps get that resume looked at, a nd a phone call to you for an interview. The thing most employers look at in a resume is degree obtained.
