He asked when i could start, as well as my salary expectations. He kept saying goog, good about my resume and at the end he said, " i think we can work with you, i have a couple more resumes but i think we can work with you" He then shook my hand and said " looking forward to working with you" I need to know what is the chance that i got the job. I was quite confident coming out of it, but now i'm second guessing myself. Any one think i got it???/

I have been doing a job for 7 months that involves lots of lifting, bending squating, at time moving heavy machines and lots of driving which I have gotten carpel tunnel from. I'm not disabled but can't do this job anymore. Is it possible to receive unemployment if I quit? This company doesn't have any less physical jobs to offer me.

I feel a little left out at work. My boss is a nice guy, but he is a little hard to talk to. He doesn’t seem interested in current events or what the fed is doing (like most lenders at a bank). There are two other guys that I work with who have been here for about a year. My boss will always stop by their office and say hi and ask how major events in their life are coming along, but always skips over me. Not that I blame him, I don't really have anything to say. He is older than me, but not old (probably late 30’s) married with three kids while I am still single and don’t want kids…or marriage for that matter.

Any ideas of stuff that I can talk about without sounding too desperate for attention?

Not that I care, my grades are good, but do potential employers ever ask you for your college transcripts, or if you never went to college, your high school transcripts? Thanks.

We were going to buy his house with a FHA mortgage under the conditions the appraiser approved it, we went to contract and put down almost $5000 deposit but then we had to move out of the rental we were in so the lawyer said we could rent the house we wanted to buy until we got the appraisal and approval. We signed a lease and used the contract deposit as a security deposit. There were alot of things he needed to do before we could get approval which he didn't. Long story short - appraiser wouldn't approve the house -landlord/lawyer didn't fix it up. We stayed six years it started falling apart and getting hazardous to live in, we gave notice and moved out , asked for our large deposit back several times never got answer or money. He refused our last certified mail request now it's almost a year later he hasn't been able to rent or sell and we need our deposit back. What should I know before I go to small claims court? I know he will have tricks up his sleeve.

I was recently offered a position with an large, multiconglomerate corperation, but the job is a 36 month, limited term salary + bonus position. Has anyone had a good experience with this type of job or does it usually end with the completion of your contract?

I'm starting as a hostess today and I'm wondering if I can bring my handbag? I didn't see any lockers while I was at my orientation at Applebee's.

Can I just bring a small wristlet and just carry it and leave it at the hostess area? (I need to bring my Applebee's key card, money, my license and other ID's, and such.)

Hi, I'm starting to get my pre-req's done for nursing school. I've been looking at different programs and was wanting to know what degree I should aim for and if there was a difference between having an Associate's or a Bachelor's.
I was wondering if you had better/different types of jobs, better salaries, more oppurtunities etc with having a bachelors rather than an associates.

Thank you all so much.

I am interested in becoming an accountant for the FBI. I've been researching and each time it connects accountants as special agents. I'm not cut out for criminal investigating and all the secret private agent stuff. What does this mean? If you are an accountant for the FBI are you automatically a special agent?

I had to give 3 months notice, which is fine by me, now they have decided to end my days not doing my normal tasks (systems analyst) but to land me with implementing and setting up a disaster recovery site. I havent a clue where to start, i have 8 good people working with me on this project , but they all seem to be a bit stumped. We have offices in Canary Wharf, London Wall and Cheapside. I do not think this is fair to put this on my shoulders, any body give me a heads up on where to start?

Earlier today I had a customer yelled, cussed, and insulted at me beyond imagination over the phone. I work at a college bookstore and she was getting mad at me at why we mark books as required when they aren't really so. I wanted to tell her to shut the **** up since the professor is the one that tells us to list the books and materials as so, and some times professors exaggerate on the materials that they want or they just want to make a profit since they were the one that wrote those textbooks. I was honestly trying to best explain to her about the procedures that take place in a college bookstore. I honestly do not get paid enough to deal with people like her. I have her phone number and I want to yell at her back while I'm not on the clock, what are my rights as an employee if I do so? What can she complain to the manager about? The fact that a normal citizen is going ape on her?

Well the job hunt has stated, I gradated with a degree in History, minor in Chinese language and psychology. Truthfully I’m a bit lost as to what should I do for a job. I’m really interested in traveling around the world and being able to speak a language or 2 more ( I can speak Chinese)

I was thinking about trying Photojournalism. Is it possible for me to do something like this with my degree? I am currently doing a internship at a trade company, but my major has nothing to do with it, and if I want I can stay here after the internships (assuming *** goes well)

Plus I live in china, so I guess to could get another degree or masters for pretty cheap.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

I work as a server at a well-known chain restaurant and I earn $X.XX amount per hour (below minimum wage) because I keep all tips that I get. At the end of the day when I log out, I enter how many tips I get and am taxed appropriately with the tips in consideration when I get my paycheck.

A friend who worked at this same location previously warned me that the boss (head of this location) there has a habit of going back and increasing the amount of tips that you say you have earned. I'm not 100% sure why, but I heard that if you don't earn enough tips to make "minimum wage" since the $X.XX you earn is below it, then they have to compensate you the difference.

So when I recently looked at my time log, all the tip amounts I had previously reported were changed (change is acknowledged on log). As a result, I am paying extra tax on tips that I haven't received...

I plan waiting 2 more paycheck periods to see if this continues... but what legal action can I take if this continues?
