A lot of the answers so far have been really positive, but I'm going to try and be realistic here. You asked about jobs and the only $12.50-$19/hr job you'll find in high school will be very labourous, physically demanding, long hour jobs like carpenter, landscaping (maybe), or warehouse. A warehouse job might actually be your best bet if you dont have skills. You might be able to pull it off as a server but it depends where you work and for how long. My best advise is to pick a place you like going to or something you like doing, start from the bottom and work your way up.

Depending on where you live. I lived in the suburbs of KC when i was in high school and had $500 checks working at a sub shop every paycheck while one of my friends in Branson was making $12 an hour as a server at a restaurant.

Not likely but still possible, it would depend on what skills you have. Can you work in IT? again you would start at the bottom, Construction? Housing slow down. Honestly think you are more in the 7-10 dollar range. But like I stated it will depend more on your skills, education, and experience. Good luck to you.

Yes, but you have to either have skills, work very hard or have a foot in the right door. I know someone who is 17 and makes just over $31K a year working part time.

Sure, I don't see why not. It depends on what you are able to do to earn the money.
