I have been working for Hays recruitment in a single long term contract for 2½ years now.
My boss wants to give me a salary increase, but Hays want a percentage of this for themselves. I know of another agency who do not operate in this way and I want to change to them.
Is this possible?

It's harder and more expensive to get rid of this agent than it was to get divorced...!!

I feel really frustrated at my job. I just don't feel well around my colleagues. I didn't like them from the beginning but I took the job because I didn't feel I have much choice at the time.
I like my job and it is interesting but working around my colleagues makes me real sad, angry and frustrated.
I get really silent around them and they annoy me with the way they are. I feel they find me strange and I do act strange around them. I think because I am very different from them I can't seem to get along with them.
The problem is I had never felt well at any job I had and I have changed about 5 jobs for 5 years.
So basically i think it might be me who is not adjusting well and not the others, so I don't know if it 's a smart thing to look for sth I won't find.
Yet i somehow feel I can be more positive and friendly around people I like , and i feel i'm missing sth being so down most of the days at work.
Am i a dreamer ? Should I stay or should i look for a better job?

Say if you get a new job and the company seeks references from your previous employers, can you ask your boss (in your new job) if you can see the references given by your previous employer??

My ex-boss is a real bully and on my last day hardly spoke to me at all, despite the fact that we were the only two people in the office! Now, I have had to give his name as a referee, I have contacted him to let him know, but he hasn't returned my calls or email, I'm nervous that he will give me a less than great reference and this will hinder my chances on securing a new opportunity. Please advise!

I left home at 16 and joined the forces, after six years I left and worked as a vehicle electrician before becoming a fireman. I've been a fireman for over ten years and I now have some rank and a lot of responsibility. I want a job that pays similar money but I want a job that I can forget about when I go home. A job with no responsibilty, something completely different but must involve outside work. Bikes are my biggest interest.

So, you're talking to someone who can hire you for the job you've always wanted. There is a position open. And he can give it to anyone he thinks is suitable. Now, you're either speaking to him via e-mail, in person, on phone, or whatever. What would you say and how would you act? There are some people who would kiss major booty, explaining that they want the job and then go into how amazing it is that the person who could hire them got whatever position they have. They could talk about how well the person who could hire them, their speaking and writing skills are. Would you do this to the person who could hire you for your dream job, or would you keep it simple and just say how much you want this job, or write some 15 page essay explaing how badly and how passionately you want it, or would you follow some other approach at dealing with this person. Let's say, this is a job that lots of other people want and you have tried getting it a million of other times and it hasn't worked.

I've been looking for a job (like FOREVER) and whenever I finally gain an interiview, the interview seems to go great, but I never get anywhere and its making me incredibly depressed. I know its like this for thousends of people, but it just feels like im stuck in a rut that I can get out of! I was claiming Jobseekers, but the people at the jobcentre made me feel Inadequate, like I just crawed out of a hold somewhere.. so I brokedown after a while and stopped claiming.

I've been looking online at those work from home websites like getrichbehappy.com etc, does anyone know if these actually work? or are they just scams? I've even tried buying and selling on ebay..with no avail.. any help and advice would be grately appreciated, thanks guys :)
