I've been looking for a job (like FOREVER) and whenever I finally gain an interiview, the interview seems to go great, but I never get anywhere and its making me incredibly depressed. I know its like this for thousends of people, but it just feels like im stuck in a rut that I can get out of! I was claiming Jobseekers, but the people at the jobcentre made me feel Inadequate, like I just crawed out of a hold somewhere.. so I brokedown after a while and stopped claiming.

I've been looking online at those work from home websites like getrichbehappy.com etc, does anyone know if these actually work? or are they just scams? I've even tried buying and selling on ebay..with no avail.. any help and advice would be grately appreciated, thanks guys :)

Complete the cliche "if it sounds too good to be true it...."

Anything that claims you can get rich quickly through very little work, and then asks you to pay a fee for the privelige of trying is undoubtedly a scam.

However, that's not to say there aren't legitimate homeworking and self-employment schemes out there. Just think of Avon, Tuuperware and Ann Summers. There are also many companies requiring leaflet deliverers, brochure distributors, envelope stuffers, cross stitchers, mystery shoppers, product testers - all sorts. If you go to the chat forums on www.moneysavingexpert.com you'll be able to chat to some people who've tried these and get feedback on the ones to go for.

The scams far outnumber the legitimate schemes but with a bit of research you may be able to find something appropriate. It's unlikely to make you rich (and no legitimate scheme will claim to), but you should be able to earn a respectable amount over time without paying the company anything upfront.

I've never known anyone who has got rich doing this. I think its a con. I know what you mean about Job seekers , my husband had to claim a few years ago and they made us feel like lepers. I went with him to one interview and walked out after they were so rude , we both did part time jobs to earn a bit and not claim social. Keep looking and do anything , cleaning anything just to keep you in work until you find something you really want to do. Join a job agency they have temp factory work which is demoralising but again it keeps you in work and try not to lose hope. You will get there. If there really isn't anything about why not do some voluntary work it does wonders for the self worth and again its good on your CV.

Most of these get rich sites work...for the people who started them...not so much for the people who get on board with them. Try a google of 'legitimate work from home jobs' and see what interests you...for instance:

http://www.real-home-employment.com/ No fees work from home listings site for legit jobs

http://www.moneyfromhome.com/ Highly ranked by Fortune Magazine etc

http://content.monster.ca/12466_en-CA_p1.asp This is the Canadian Monster.com site (monster.ca) but it has some solid advice on how to steer clear of scam jobs. You might want to check out Monster.com, Workopolis.com, etc.

Search also for legitimate telecommute jobs, virtual assistants etc. If you have a skill or skills to offer search with that included in the search parameters.

If you want to operate a business of your own...free from other people so that you are truly the boss, consider combining your skills and starting a business from them...molding them to the needs you might see out there that could be filled, added to or changed to accommodate your kind of clientele.

Learn web design, web development, SEO consulting (telling companies how to best promote their business via search engine optimization .. big right now). Do you enjoy any hobbies...set up a site to sell what you create, use this as more of a side line however until it can stand on it's own merit.

There are a lot of ways to bring cash into the home, it just depends on where you look for the ideas and whether or not those ideas are areas that interest you. Going for something that is simply putting food on the table won't last for long...for the long haul you want something that you really can get into, have a passion for, want to get up and do every single day because working from home takes committment, control and the ability to put everything else aside and concentrate on what you are doing as a business person.

Good luck with this...

Sounds like you really need been working hard at finding a job. There are no such things at get rich quick schemes and yes there are some dreadful scams out there. However there are legitimate companies too. I can offer you a homebased business, with top support and training. In return we would expect you to learn and work hard.

In 2 - 3 months you could be earning a significant income. To discuss you options please email me on flp4life@yahoo.co.uk

They are a con. Unfortunately peole will probably post some dodgy links up in response to your posting.

Someone above posted stuff about voluntary work this may be a good idea. you should go back on jobseekers as this can be a route to courses etc.

The get rich quick business opportunities do work. Everytime someone sends 39.95 for a "How To" booklet that costs less than 1 to make, someone is making money. If you honestly want to make money on a get rich quick scheme, start one.
