I am interested in taking classes for graphic design. I am an okay artist..probably a 4 on a scale from 1 to 10. Do you have to be a great artist to do graphic design?

I know I'm not the first to ask about quitting job - temp agencies have lots of jobs I could take, some at same pay, some a bit less. The boss's screaming is starting to give me chest pains (angina?) - this last time he asked me if I had a mental problem and need my head examined. He said his 5 year old could do some of my tasks.

My co:workers said that other employees in my position have just left, and many temps wouldn't take the job.

One co:worker's wife helped out for a while until the boss told her a moron could do the task she was having trouble with. That's when she handed him the work and said "OK, then you do it"!

This guy screams at vendors, customers, people who cold-call, and sometimes other employees.

But mostly me - we have really butted heads and when I offered last week to quit, he said "No, don't quit. Just stop "F" ing up on the job!".

Should I just walk out if I'm pretty sure I can find temp work at the least?

i am interviewing for a potential job tomorrow and want to know when the appropriate time to tell the interviewer about an upcoming vacation. I would only be missing 1 day of work (a friday). the trip is payed for and booked. i know it doesn't really matter but this is the first time since i was pregnant ( 2 1/2 years ago) that i have gone anywhere! i have been with my children everyday and feel like i deserve this mini break.
at any rate i am afraid it will detour my potential employer into thinking i am not dedicated or truly interested in the position- and i am desperately wanting this position.
will it effect my chances of getting hired? probably huh.
any input is appreciated- thanks

My hubby's work schedule is going to be changing, and we would like some advice from someone working similar hours. He used to work from about 8am - 6pm, and now he'll be working 1am - 10am. We have a 14-month old and a 2-1/2 year old who have no idea how to "be quiet" for extended periods of time, and a 10 year old who he'd like to be able to spend some time with (between 3:30 and 8:30 pm, since she's in school of course). Any recommendations? When does he eat and sleep? How can he work around the kids and still be able to see them?

You are interviewing for a volunteer coordinator. You work at a teen center. You value diversity, multiculturalism, and social justice.

What are questions you are going to ask the person interviewing for this job?

You are going to an interview to be a volunteer coordinator at a teen center that really values diversity.

You are asked "How would you describe yourself in one word"

What is your answer?

(preparing to be asked this in an interview) Thanx.

To add to that I am currently enlisted in the USAF as a Security Forces member (military police) I have been doing this for just over 5 years and will contract out in Nov 08 which will put me at just under 7 years. I am a good troop and have all 5 EPR's with zero paperwork. I also have a Bachelors of Sciene in Criminal Justice at a regionally accredited college. I am looking towards pushing for a master ( just don't know what for and if I'll be finish by the time I get out so I'll leave that out ). I am also married with 3 children so I can't accept any kind of entry job. Based and my experience and education what do you think I could look for in the job market as I am not sure on the civilian side as I have basically been in the military the whole time after high school (minus a year and some change of min wage jobs prior)... Thanks in advance

They'll think I'm suicidal, but I'm not! What should I do? I'll try to cover it with a long sleeve shirt, but if they notice? Also, what kind of questions (unrelated to the wrist) might they ask? If they ask about diversity, how do I answer without sounding mad racist?

Hello.. I'm just wondering about protocol or whatever at work. I"m looking for a new job and I saw that there was an opening job at my company's client's company and I would like to apply. Would it be such bad ethics to contact someone there, who I know the company deals with and send my resume directly to that person? Or it's better to send the resume to the company's HR? Thanks!
