I am hoping to get into Richmond International University in a couple years, but I will have to find means to pay my way. I realize there are jobs that the college provides, but they don't pay that much. Is it very difficult for American students to get a part-time job in the city? I'm not looking for something fancy, just a waitress job or something, that will hopefully pay around 12k a year. (My parents are helping out with tuition, but I need to pay around half.)

(Also, someone mentioned it might not be legal for me to work. I hadn't considered that, but would appreciate it if someone would confirm or refute it.)

As a supervisor I have an employee who constantly questions my decisions. It seems that no matter what you say or do she has a "better" idea. Any suggestions how to deal with her?

Ok, I just asked this but, I put in too much detail causing people to become fortune cookie writers. Plain and simple. I have proof that my ex-boss is giving prospective employers a very bad and untrue refference on me. What kind of a lawyer do I need to contact for such thing?

....anyway..you say.."I am sorry about the mistake, and i will try to do better..."..But your boss just goes on and on about how important it is to NOT make mistakes...blah, blah, blah...anyway it takes about 10 minutes...when you go back to your seat...people ask you what was that about?...you just say "Oh, i'd rather not go into that"...and go back to work...THEN two weeks later, they found another mistake...and call you back in....and "sort of yell...and say...we can't have these mistakes...etc., another 10 minutes..."...i just say politely...." again, i am sorry about the mistake, but everyone makes mistakes......she interrupts me and says again, we can't have this in our company....etc.,,...QUESTION...SHOULD I JUST GIVE MY TWO WEEK NOTICE AND NOT GIVE THEM A REASON...and just write...here is my two weeks notice...i will be leaving on such and such a date??? i feel it borderlines on harrassment...But i do not think they know I KNOW!!! tell me what you think about this???

I've already applied to about 25-30 vacancies in the past month. I have contacted at least 20 to find out how my application is progressing, I really need to get a job that can offer me more hours fast, in the next month and a half. What is the best way to do this.

I've heard Panda Express managers earn a great salary. Can anyone tell me how much (and the location where this particular salary is earned)? I want actual numbers from someone who knows, not just guesses or what you've heard from someone else.

I have US Cellular (similar to Verizon). When I signed my contract, it was for 2 years. Technology updates at a blazing fast pace and I would like to keep up. I don't really want to wait 2 years before I get a new phone.

Is there any way, without spending a ridiculous amount of money (less than $100) to get a new (decent, not a $.01 phone) phone BEFORE my 2 year contract is up?

Ok, so i have been taking classes in HVAC (heating and air) for a little over a year. Now im finished with the course and i must admit im kinda torn as what i want to do now. I really dont know if i want to get into this field or not. I started having second thoughts regarding it half way through the program.
Also, i feel the school let me down regarding alot of the things i needed to learn. This is a mechanical related field of course-yet probably over 80% of the classes was book related. I know bookwork/classwrom work is a very important thing, yet i feel such a course should put more of an emphasis on the mechanical side of things. We had a huge lab area with dozens of furnaces and air conditioners, yet we RARELY ever got to touch anything. In over a year i probably got to hook gauges up to a air conditioning system less than 10 times. Never even got to charge one or repair anything furnace or air conditioning related.

She was hated in the Main Office because she's highly detail-oriented & thorough. I was just promoted to management & am still learning my job, & now she comes along & everyone is on edge d/t all her changes. Nobody can keep up with the massive changes, & morale is dropping. Any serious good ideas on how to handle this? She has very poor "bedside manners", & is not known for being personable. She goes by the letter of the law.
We know she's helping us improve, but it's just too much, too fast.

I been trying to help one of my friends for a while. He's 30 years old, has a college degree, he's very hard working in school except he's never had a job before. So, nowadays he has a job phobia because he gets scared even applying for jobs because he feels he can only get high school or minimum wage jobs without experience and he keeps thinking about what other people would think of him. He's a smart guy but with career choices he had a bad start cause he focus to much on school. So, nowadays he just stays home and does nothing and feels depress and scared of applying. I mean i think the guy is not lazy and he's a hard worker then a lot of people when he was doing hw at school. But yeah he just has this pride and fear that when he applies for a job and people see on his resume that he has no experience that he will be laughed and mock at. Anyways, does anyone have any advice in breaking my friend's bad habit and PLEASE NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS thank you
