If you have the finances to go to college and get a degree then great if not you may need to go to work to survive. The only way you will make it in this world is to work hard. You could go to college for three or four years and drink and party as much as you like and walk out with a degree but you will not necessarily be more successful in the future than the person that spent that three or four years out there working their butt off and gaining contacts and a network. Further education is a PRIVILEGE and not a right if you want to be a doctor then you have no choice to get into college or change your aspirations but with what you want to do and your age good work ethics, hard work and maturity will take you a lot further than a degree in how to drink from a keg.

Sorry I think the USA waste too much money on so called education with kids thinking another four years of partying is their given right. More fool the parents. Other countries with less emphasis on college education have a far more active youth community with their young adults contributing in a far more productive way to the future of their countries and far lower unemployment rates not because they have more jobs but because people have a more broadminded work ethic.

Whatever you decide you will only succeed with good old fashioned hard work and determination to succeed. Good Luck! and remember it is all about making your mark in an organisation and surrounding yourself with a great network of contacts.

Those people are smoking crack. In the US - a college degree is a right and no longer a privelege - therefore, if you do not have one - you will be lookat at as an asshole and will be at a disadvantage all through life because - look at all the assholes that have college degrees - that is unless you are Bill Gates Son - or you can make it is Basketball - the point is you are hanging out you whole life on a long shot - a gamble that you dont need to be educated . It is simply not true that you do not need an education, You didnt, I didnt and everyone else didnt learn anything in grade school - go to college & learn how to read, write add a few numbers and communicate - and do not entertain such thinking. Unless you idea of "media" is someone saying " super size me!"

It may not be "required," but you might get paid more if you have a degree in something related (or at least somewhat related) to it. Can't you go to a special school for the sort of thing you're looking for? If nothing else, you can always fall back on your college degree. Education never hurt anyone. I didn't wanna go to college before I did, but I realize that it's a lot harder to make it in life without a college (or some equivalent) degree.

You should go to college because then you can have the feeling of accomplishment. You can learn things that other employess may not know in the media industry. THefore you can be on top. True you don't always need college for every job. Yet Colleges can look really really good on your job reseme, think about it like this would you rather hire someone who went to a good college or someone who didn't attend one at all. :) hope this helps

There was a time when college was an in for most companies, to get positions, beginning in management. I'm not so sure anymore; however, you learn a lot in college if you apply yourself and that can be handy in the media business.

School serves a couple of important purposes. It prepares you for the time when you will truly be living independantly, it helps you establish friendships that you may have for the rest of your life, and if media doesn't work out, it gives you a degree so you can fall back on other options, like teaching, or heavens forbid...law school.

I've heard that too, and it's true. You just have to be a REALLY hard worker and be willing to put up with a lot of crap until you see the payout. You're better off going to college and having a sure chance at geting hired for a decent wage.

Having a college education will help you throughout life, and you never know what you will end up doing down the road,, so if you can, finish college.

To be really honest with ya alot of how today's work ethics are going it is more of who you know not if you are qualified.

But just to be secure I went on and finished so I wouldn't be taking food orders or mopping floors for the rest of my life.

Complete college and make a name for yourself.

in today's world? no college or higher learning? are you (or they) nuts? college or trade school has always been the edge over the competition & in the 21th century, same rule applies. the more prestigous the college, the better the 'ol boy networking for you. believe me! the right college, making the right contacts opens doors for you , you never thought were there or needed to be opened. male or female. makes no difference. that sheepskin is your ticket to ride!
