I recently found a job that is pretty much everything I'm looking for in terms of salary and position, except for one major problem - it's well outside the city, so the commute back and forth would probably be an hour each way, regardless of car or train.

This worries me, because I live in the city, would occasionally be working late, and it could destroy my evening social life (which isn't every evening, of course, but getting dinner, watching TV with friends, etc. is an important part of my relaxation in the evening.) Moving isn't an option right now - I just bought a new place in the city.

So - take the new job and deal as best I can with the commute, or keep looking, while not being happy with my current job?

I have always wanted to have my own business. Is there any business me and my husband can start from our own home? We just had our second child and can't afford to buy or rent a building of our own just yet. And NOT babysitting. I have enough kids of my own. I would really like something we can do together. Cooking, crafts, etc. How do you get people or stores to sell your buy/sell your stuff?

I'm finishing this semester in college and going to school for truck driving. I would like to take a year or so off from school to see the country and make some good money. I've read about the hardships that truck drivers go through like layovers, fatigue, logging miles honestly, idle laws, false DAC reports, etc. Any experienced truck drivers have any advice on dealing with the issues? Is it worth it to put up with all this?

I have been working at my job for four weeks and have yet to be paid. I have already went above my boss and talked to the district manager. She told me I would be paid this week. A my job we are supposed to get paid bi-weekly. The district manager told me that the reason I was not paid last payday was because they mess up on my paperwork and I was not in the systems as an employee. I have given my boss the copies of my timesheet every week, as well as kept copies of my own. I only work part-time,20 hours or less a week, and they owe me almost 60 hours worth of pay. The next payday is friday, but I feel I should not have to wait that long being that it is backpay. I can't wait till friday. I have books to buy for my classes and other bills. I'm also going out of town for a college buddy's party on friday. I have no money!!! Is there any government agency that can help me?

I love helping people. People that can't afford the things they need. Helping someone get out of bad situations. I love volunteering time and donating things to our local charity. But I need a paying job. I can't be a nurse like my husband wants because I can't stand needles, blood, etc. I don't mind going back to shcool to get extra training if I need to. Any ideas of any jobs I would like? I really don't know where to start. I have had jobs in the past that I hated and I want one that I will actually like,
