I have been working at my job for four weeks and have yet to be paid. I have already went above my boss and talked to the district manager. She told me I would be paid this week. A my job we are supposed to get paid bi-weekly. The district manager told me that the reason I was not paid last payday was because they mess up on my paperwork and I was not in the systems as an employee. I have given my boss the copies of my timesheet every week, as well as kept copies of my own. I only work part-time,20 hours or less a week, and they owe me almost 60 hours worth of pay. The next payday is friday, but I feel I should not have to wait that long being that it is backpay. I can't wait till friday. I have books to buy for my classes and other bills. I'm also going out of town for a college buddy's party on friday. I have no money!!! Is there any government agency that can help me?

Contact your state's Department of Labor and Industry. They would handle that.

You shouldn't have to wait. They owe you money for the hours that you worked fair and square. you shouldn't be penalized for their poor organization and lack of ability to handle your paperwork properly. As for the agency, contact your area/profession's labor union or the better business bureau. They handle stuff like that all the time. good luck. : )
