I graduated last December from the Univ. of South Carolina with a B.S. in Technology Support & Training Management and have yet to get a job with my degree. Im beginning to feel like that whole time in college was a waste! Everytime I go on interviews its like I dont have enough experience for the job seems like. I do in fact have a job but its almost something a high school graduate can do.

Im in the process of buying some A+ Certification material to increase my chances of finding something. Im also thinking about taking grad classes for a M.A. in Information Technology Management.

Does it sound like I'm on the right route? I tell you if i knew it would have been this hard finding a job when I graduated I would have majored in something completely different. If anybody was in the same situation let me know what helped you out and got you started?

Thanks

I don't know the right people to help me get into the public school system. I have applied for every opening and have had some interviews, but have never been hired. I have been out of work for a long time. I apply everyday to different jobs and no one calls or hires me. I want to be able to care for my family if anything should happen to my husband who is self- employed. I feel like a loser. I am feeling sorry for myself. But I set and accomplished a higher education so that I wouldn't have to rely on anyone but to no avail. what should I do and how should I feel about myelf.

Assume a healthy male of sixty years with education but really down on luck. Food, medicine, utilities, shelter are all in jeopardy and no programs seem to address these needs without a child involved. Age discrimination in hiring is just as ugly as any other discrimination!

A friend of mine is about to launch a new website that's gonna be fantabulous. Problem is, he works full-time at a job he hates which is taking up alot of free time that could be spent working on his website. So, other than the lifestyle change (being frugal), and the fact that he is a VITAL asset to this company, can you think of any other reasons why he should stay at this job?

recently my daughter (16) and i started working at boston market. we have only been there for about a week. my daughter worked from 9 am-4 pm on thanksgiving (which is the busiest day of the year) without a break the entire day. the last 1/2 hour of her shift the manager pulled her to the side and said she had offended all her co-workers, and customers with her attitude and said if this happen again she will be gone. my daughter came home crying. so i called and spoke to the manager. which told my she what had happened. so i asked her if she had given her a break and she said no the law states that minors get a break after working 8 hours. so i did some research and found out minors are to have a break at 5 hours. i took the document up there on friday night and left it for her. on sunday the manager called me and stated she would not put me on the schedule until i came in (on my own time) and spoke to her face to face. i told her not without finding out what it was pertaining to.

with no notice, would you expect to have been told to clear your desk and hand your keys to the premises back?
I've been told 6 times that I'm not going to be fired, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they are saving it as a nasty surprise.

I haven't been told to clear my desk, and they know I still have keys.

I'm fairly worried about this. Any insights/experiences would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

I graduated in college in 1997, and started at my current place of employment in 1998. I've gone from the bottom rung to as high as I can get in those eight years, and I know I managed to portray it well so far on my resume. But now I'm kind of stuck: I only have ONE job listed. Should I include the administrative temp work I did in my year between college and career? The two part time jobs I had before I was full time at my current job? Retail in college?! I like that I can show I've had dedication and the ability to grow into a position, but I think having only one place of employment also kind of makes me look... not very well rounded. Or do the three positions I've worked to get to my current position count as other "jobs"?

My coworker told that he urinates in the company coffee everyday. He says that he likes to do that because their are many people on our job that he cannot stand. He says that he likes to see the look on their faces after he adds his "own personal blend of herbs and spices" (urine) to the coffee. I really don't like the flavor of urine in my coffee and I am wondering if I should tell my boss about what has been going on.
I am a little nervous about saying anything because this guy is very disrespectful and has a bit of tough reputation. It is said that he carries his own personal collection of whips and chains in the trunk of his car and will use them on anyone that crosses his path.
Should I tell my boss that my coworker has been urinating in the coffee or should I just find something else to drink?? Help please

I am at work right now and am bored. I want to change jobs and am keeping an eye out for something new. Does anyone else ever feel this way? If you could change jobs and do whatever you want, what would it be? I would have my own house and work out of my home as a freelance writer. I also would work as an artist, painting, scultping and making collages.
