Assume a healthy male of sixty years with education but really down on luck. Food, medicine, utilities, shelter are all in jeopardy and no programs seem to address these needs without a child involved. Age discrimination in hiring is just as ugly as any other discrimination!

Publix hires older people, as does Walgreens. I know these jobs don't pay too well, but maybe it's a way to get by while you're looking for something else.
