The best way is to go to a trade school, and then work in the plumbing trade for a few years. It isn't overnight that you can learn what is needed to know. After that, you must apply to the registar of contractors in your state, take a test or two, become bonded, insured, ect. Never easy job.

It is all in the way your state allows. Some states you can take a test and some you have to log so many hours on the job and at school for certification.Check with your local plumbers and pipe fitters union for criteria.
