Ive been told to do a "60 Second commercial". Sell yourself and the high points you have. If your a lousy person in the morning, but energetic in the afternoon, leave out that your sluggish in the A.M., and Pinpoint the good in the afternoon that you have. Just be yourself, and yoour personality will shine throughout the interview.

Very good question. Most employees nowadays look for "emotional intelligence" which implies that you are well aware of your own personality traits. If you want the job and are prepared to bend the truth, fit the answer to whatever industry you're applying for. Generally, recruiters want to hear that you're competitive, but you get along with people and can work well in teams. Add that you work well under stress.

The best answer is to tell the truth but focus more on the good points. So if you are outgoing and friendly, say so, but if you get angry easily if someone does not meet your quality standards at work, don't say it. It is important to tell the truth - eventually people will work with you and find out.

Think positive, be very direct/precise, and short with your answers....ex: q: What are some negative thing about yourself?
a: I tend to work long hours without breaking.

personally I would describe my personality with eulogizing and critical words at the same time, on the eulogizing side I will mention my qualities and on the critical side I would mention defects which are not really defects like extreme competitiveness, tendency to fight to the end, sort of stubborness, crap like that which is very much appreciated in this stupid corporate world

Candidly, and positively. Are you bright, cheerful? Are you more subdued? I would say something like - I'm outgoing, usually cheerful and willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

Just say: "Just about the most awesome personality you've ever imagined, plus some more."
Or the old reliable: "I'm Rick James *****!"
