I am looking for employment which I can conduct from my home office. My experience leans towards recruiting, scheduling and people managing since my last employer was a large demonstrating/marketing company where I was employed as an area manager..
I'm looking for a position with a local company that outsources to a homebased office. I'm not interested in direct sales, surveys, solicating or sales of any kind. Are there any Edmonton companies who outsource work to homebased employees? Suggestions?

Im a qualified Brithish plumber, and a quaified and licenced Brithish Gas Fitter. My wife is American and we're considering moving there (probably Chicago). So I'm wondering how or would I be able to get licences, also is it normal in America for someone to do plumbing and Gas Fitting. Is heating and cooling a seperate trade, or is it just the duct work a seperate trade (as in Europe).

My position went from clerk to manager of a store. I maintain that I have not received a pay raise since my gross has not changed ... management maintains that I have received a raise since my hourly went from $13.25 to $15.38 on a 50 hour week. Who is right? Both of us? How can we reconcile our different viewpoints?

i know, i know, it depends on the circumstances of what product or service you're trying to buy. but on the whole, do you think customer service should strive for friendliness over efficiency? or productivity over nicety? why?

I am having difficulty securing employment. I am looking for a full time job with a benefit package. I am currently working pt on the weekends. I have completed 16 interviews in the past 4 1/2 months. I am becoming depressed that I will not find a good job. Good meaning a M-F office job (clerical, file clerk, receptionist, admin. assistant). Any advice on what I may be doing wrong? I follow up with the interviewers and I send thank you notes. I realize it is a very fierce job market out there and need advice!

I am guardian for my brother and take care of his financial needs. I am a compulsive gambler and when I ran out of my money, I would write a check out on my brother. I always paid him back, every penny, I even have overpaid him $895.00. I was not aware that I could not do that and could be charged with a felony. If I am charged and no jail time, will my employer be notified and could I lose my job?

I have worked for the Social Security Administration for 20 years. I was deployed last year to FEMA to work in New Orleans following Hurrican Katrina and Rita. It was one of the most rewarding experiences in my life so I decided I wanted to make a career change and work With FEMA. Now I have the opportunity to work for FEMA. I need to make the decision to leave SSA and go to FEMA and I am suddenly afraid. I am praying for God's guidance in the matter but I don't think it matters to God which I choose. Either way I service the public by improving their quality of life. I know there is no one that can make this decision for me but can anyone offer any guidance on how I go about making the decision and what to do with the fear

I am 34 with a BS in Liberal Studies/Biology. I am thinking about switching careers, and I am highly interested in pursuing a career in the allied health field. I am particularly interested in nursing, nuclear medicine, sonography, and radiology (CAT scans and MRI). If you work in any of these professions, please tell why you chose that profession, pros/cons of job, beginning salaries, average salaries, opportunity for growth, any preferred medical specialities, as well as anything you wished you knew about the profession before you started, but have learned in the workplace or through experience. I have already checked out websites such as monster, american medical association...Thanks for the help and consideration!
