The receptionist called this morning to schedule a second interview on Monday at 9 am, it was the only avaiable time. After thinking about what I would say to my current employer, I decided to call the interviewer directly and ask if we could possibly meet at 8 am instead, if not that would be ok since I have vacation time left, but would prefer not to have to take time off work if possible. Otherwise I would see him at 9.

I then accidentally left my work # on his voice mail out of habit and I was very nervous. I didnt realize this until after I hung up. I called back and left him another voice mail saying I left you my home # but cell would be better the # is...

I was very nervous and felt like an idiot and was speaking kind of quick. Am I over analyzing this or did I hurt my chances of gettins this job? I am just not good on the phone...

If I ask the interviewer questions like how long they have been working for the company or do they like working here or even how they got to their position, would that be considered rude?

I want to be able to stand out from others at an interview.

My husband and I are purchasing our first home and we are in love with it! However, the radon testing results came back and it is at 30. The sellers are putting in a mitigation system in on Monday.

My question is, when we decide to resell someday, will this system be a deterrent to future buyers?

Okay I won an auction for a pair of jeans on ebay for 10 bucks. The shipping is 15 dollars which is outrageous. Although i've already won the bid I still haven't paid yet. 15 dollars for shipping is much higher than similar jeans which range from about 6-8 dollars. Is this person ripping me off? Do I have to pay?

ok i just turned 18, recently got my own car insurance. I would like to know, if your auto insurance would bring up your credit score or seeing that I have no credit, add to it? I know that some companies are checking credit before giving a quote, but i dont know if it would in any way help your credit.

Thanks

Scenario: Live in a two bedroom apartment for 1 year. Dog sat puppy for total of 1month, not consecutive. Most of that time occurred within the first 6mo of living there. Puppy had a few accidents but nothing much. Had the carpets cleaned multiple times while living there. Upon moving out had the carpet cleaned extensively, lasting about 12 hours. After moving out was presented with a bill for the carpet replacement citing animal stains and a strong smell of urine.

1) i had never once smelled urine in my apparent nor had ever had any of my close friends mention any type of pet odor during my entire time there.
2) when we moved out there were only two stains remaining: a permanent marker stain and a rust stain, neither mentioned in the report. No sign of a urine/"animal" stain.
3) Puppy urine accidents were few and far between and were for the most part cleaned immediately.
4) the management has no photographs of the stains
5) the carpet was definitely replaced

a dog cracked my tooth at work 3 years ago when i was holding it while it was being groomed. i didnt know it was cracked until the next day, but since i didn't "report" it within 24 hours, my store manager said they wouldnt pay for anything. i did file an incident report though. i went to the dentist and they said to just wait until the tooth becomes loose and they will replace the tooth... but this could be anywhere from 2 - 20 years to happen. now i need a root canal because of the pain, but it has been 3 years. i will pay ATLEAST $300 out of pocket.

do i have a case?

Our new home is now in foreclosure. We want to move back into our previous home, but now the (ARM) mortgage is too high. We thought we would have our old home w/ the ARM sold before our other one was built, but the market collapsed on us. My husband is in the construction industry, so our income has been significantly reduced. If our mortgage rate was modified to its original rate (7.75) we could make the payments. Will anyone work with us? We are filing Chapter 13 bankruptcy, but we still have to be able to make the payments. Our mortgage company will not budge. Prior to this, we had excellent credit. Is there help anywhere???

I'm sixteen, and I plan to wrap gifts and bake and sell pies and breads to earn a little money for some mission trips I want to go on. I plan to make brochures and business cards (for the services mentioned above) and give them to friends. Will I need to file any kind of taxes?

If I add my mom's name to any of the brochures and/or cards, will she have to file taxes?

note: checks will be addressed to me.
also note: we live in a state with no income tax.

Here is my situation. I have $7500 I owe on a 0% credit card that expires in March 08. I want to transfer that balance to a different 0% credit card in February to avoid finance charges. Also have college loans that I am paying back as well so I have a total debt of $15,933. I have a total of $40,000 of credit that I can use spread out through 14 cards. I want to buy a house in a few years. My FICO score is 714. I was 90 days late on a card payment in January 06 and a derogatory mark from April 04 that has been paid (forgot about the card and they sent the statement to the wrong address)

I don't like having these credit cards open. Will closing all these accounts affect my FICO score negatively when I buy a house in a few years? Does closing unused cards make it easier to sign up for another 0% credit card account with a credit limit near $7500?

today is the last day on my contract to sell my house - i've had no offers...made several offers on houses my self and even went as far as 2 days from closing on a new house and then everything went screwy. I've decided to stay put and not sell my house. Yesterday, my agent called me and said someone wanted to look at my house Friday...and he was aware that their contract with me expired thursday (today) and could he show it anyway...or would I sign an extension on their contract. I told him I was no longer interested in selling my house. He still wanted to show it as the people were flying in from out of state. I said there was no point, as I would not accept an offer as I AM NOT SELLING. But, I said he could show it...but I would NOT be open to offers. WELL, the couple showed up early and are coming to look at my house today in about 2 hours...and my contract is still valid through the end of today. Am I obligated to sell or accept an offer even though I said I wouldn't sell?
