Yes, and not only will you get hit with an overlimit fee, but do it enough times and the credit card company will but you on the default interest rate.
Stop charging on the card and pay it off. Then only charge what you can afford to pay in full every month.

Also it depends on the bank issuing the credit
You will want to be careful about that because if you go over the limit, the bank issuing credit can also close your account and if they do, it will show up as a negative rating.

The credit card companies encourage it!
You'll pay 30 or 40 dollar over the limit fee.
That one way they make their money.

Yes you can ... and they will charge you for it. My company charges $39. Also, the following month, they will send you a statement for the fee plus your minimum monthly payment. If you don't pay more, you can go over your limit again, just because of the interest added, and thus another over the limit fee. It's like a snowball effect.
