Why do we have two methods of error correction in accounting? 1) Void the original transaction and then record the original transaction correctly. 2) Record a transaction to reverse the effect of the original transaction and then record the original transaction correctly. Why do we have two different methods and how does it each serves its purpose in what occasion? Thank you

I recieved a letter from a CA stating that they are trying to collect on an account from a hospital. The account has been passed on from the hospital to another company (maybe an accounting firm) and then to the CA. The service date goes back over 7 years for one bill and over 9 years for another. This is the first time I have been contacted re: these bills. The hospital has never sent us a bill or tried to contact us. I don't even know if I owe this or if is some type of billing mistake. I know that there is a time limit on collections, but not sure how it is calculated. Has any one experieced this or have advice.

She sent an email joke around. I replied back 'You're hideous!'.

I meant to say 'hilarious' but that damn spell-checker...

Anyway, she is hideous. That's the problem.

Of course I explained the situation to her and our boss (he chuckled).

Thanks

I live in Mississippi and am a sophomore in the Medical Billing and Coding program at Southwest Mississippi Community College. I would love to work from home but have not found any legitimate companies offering this opportunity.

I don't know much about how these companies work. How will it effect my credit score? I have a good credit score now with no late payements ever. Will they close my credit cards? If so, doesnt that hurt my score because it takes away a lot of available credit? I'm hoping to hear some success stories if possible. Thank you all and have a wonderful holiday season.

I received my credit card statement today, and there was an unauthorized charge on it. The strangest thing about it though was that the credit card used was the OLD account number, which has not been in use for several months! Our bank issued us new credit cards months ago. How could someone get a hold of the old credit card number and use it, when that account number is no longer useable??? Please help! I have already contacted the bank and disputed the charge, as well as the place the purchase was supposedly made- the transaction does not show up in their system, based on our names and adresses. HELP!

I live in Massachusetts but the cold weather is too long here. I have been thinking of buying a second home in Florida. It's just me and my wife so we will be fine with a one bedroom place that does not require us to maintain a yard. In other words an apartment/condo will be awesome. Here is my dream: walking distance to water and a town with some nice places to eat. It should also be reasonably safe since we won't live there often but visit once a month or so. We are looking for something under $100,000.

I will really appreciate if people from Florida will be kind enough to give us some tips to get started. I am looking for suggestions on towns, new communities, condos, etc.

Oh, she did say that she wants to keep me in mind because she may call me in the nest 30 days? AHHHHH!! This is like a nightmare! I am wanting to pull my hair out strand by strand!! Please people...Has this kind of thing happened to you, and how did you handle the disapointment, and the feeling of dispair? Any help from my Yahoo family is SO appreciated! All of my salary is direct deposit into a checking account, and I would like to open a new account which I can split my salary and direct deposit $200 pre pay check (every two weeks) into it for particular purpose. This account is NOT for retirement, so I don't need an IRA account, for example, it might be a travel fund for next July, therefore I don't want to have easy access for this account during the saving period. Could anyone provide me information of saving tools. Thanks!
