I just got a thing in the mail from the Union Workers Credit Services saying I was pre-approved for a platinum credit card with a credit limit of $10,000 and an APR of 5%. It has no bank affiliation and I didn't apply for this card. My other two credit cards have credit limits of $750 and $1,500 and I don't have a great credit rating, only around 665. It sounds too good to be true so I'm hesitant to respond to it but it would be a good way to consolidate my debt onto one card and pay off my car loan.

How do I find out if this is a scam or not? It says to reply by 12/5 and send a check/money order for $37 which is fully refundable after my first purchase with my card. It doesn't give me a phone number or website, and I don't want to send $37 to someone and not be able to consolidate my debt onto this card.

I'm also not in any workers union so I don't know how the company got my name. Where can I go to see if this is a scam or not, because if it isn't, I'd be a life saver.

for a small business. I am an African American woman starting a company for animals. I need enough funding to make costumes and other small purchases. I need about 15,000 to start but I have bad credit and am paying off some of my bills currently. There is a high demand for my service and i know it will help me to pay off my debts in their entirety if I could just get it started. Where can I get funding for this business with my credit?

I have not signed anything with the real estate agent (he's only showed us 2 houses). The house was on the market, did not sell, so they took it off and may relist in the spring. We can't quite afford the house, but think they may accept a lower offer if they don't have to pay real estate fees.

I've been about even over the last 12 months, and it is driving my crazy. Better than being down I guess.

For my ebay business I was considering expanding to estate sales (when somebody dies and their things are sold). Are these common during the winter? And would there be a good sized amount of products to obtain to sell for profit?

By submitting the payment online. However, they charge $3.00 for an e-check and a 2.5% convience fee for using a credit card payment. Is this an example of our local government's stupidity?

About a month and a half ago we started renting a house and we called and switched all the utilities to our name when we did. Then we just got a bill in the mail for the water with $300 past due from before we were even living in the house. The previous tenants were evicted because they weren't paying rent and I guess they weren't paying their water either, but how is that in any way our responsibility. We rent directly from the owner of the house and not through an agency, but they are out of town for awhile so we couldn't get a hold of them. Who should be legally responsible for this bill and how do we get it taken care of? I don't want it to get to the point where they turn off our water.

Exactly, which sic yields the highest and fastest returns on investments? High tech companies, food companies, educational institiutions, oil, gas, plastic, ink, sulfur, real estate, metal? If I had $5 million and wanted to invest it all in one spot, company, product, or service, name what it would be (for the highest and fastest)return on my $5 million investment.

We are currently living in a new Barretts home apartment but wasting our money on rent.

We are now considering buying a different Barretts home apartment. However, for our budget we can only afford a ground floor plot (1st -3rd floor is an extra £10-20k!!)..

Why is it so cheap?

Its in an excellent area but we are mindful of the increased chance of break - in's for a ground floor apartment.... but what are the other disadvantages of buying a ground floor apartment...

Many thanks... xx

Hi, I earn 70K per year in the state of Texas. I just had a child and am wondering if it would be more beneficial to use the company's dependant child care flex account or should I just claim the child care tax credit at the end of the year? Thanks!

Pretend you just bought 2 million worth or stock say 5 years ago in Exxon Mobile it would now be worth 4 million so you now have made 2 million if you sell you equity and if you did it's a profit so you don't have to pay ANY SOCIAL SECURITY becasue you didn't ACTIVELY participate in the income. Now pretend your like the 2 million people LITERALLY who work at wal-mart or the half million who work at Starbucks you will have to pay SS on your POOR PAYING JOB. Say you WORK HARD everyday trying to keep your family business alive STRIVING to make it well guess what your actively participating in your income so you have to pay Social Security. NOW PRETEND your rich and you own 3 FRANCHISE MCDONALDS and you have hired good managers at all 3, you love golfing in the warm whether so you spend all your days in Florida golfing getting the checks in the mail from Mcdonalds profits and you only check on them once a year. GUESS WHAT? No social security must be paid you didn't participate in it.

when she asked for her break today they said NO as there is too much to do!!!
