Depends on the area where you live, If you are in the city you may find less expensive housing, ranging from 20,000 dollars and up.
Out in the suburbs and country areas where the living area is nicer, you could spend anwhere up to 500,000 to a million dollars or more for a home.
It is all up to where you live and what you are willing to spend to live there.

The national average is around $239,000. That's really meaningless though. In some parts of the counrty that will get you a tumble-down dump in a bad area. In others it will net you one of the nicest properties around.
