Column A in my Excel sheet contains phrases (there are about 75 filled cells in that column). I need to place double quotes around each phrase in each cell in that column. Is there a formula I can use? How?

You could create a macro. I was researching it, but I don't have time and you may have an older version of Excel than I do.

Anyway, a macro could do it nicely.

In an adjacent column, you can have this formula (e.g. at row 2):

="""" & A2 & """"

There are 4 double quotes before and after the A2.

Copy this and paste it (or drag it down to autofill) as far down as you have data in column A.

If you need more info, edit your question to add more details, or e-mail.
Good luck.

Highlight the cell(s) you wish to type your phrase in, click the Format icon in the toolbar, then click Cells, then choose the Number tab, then click Text from the drop-down menu, and close the box by clicking OK. After this, you can type any text you like in the chosen cell(s).
