I have been on disability, I have not worked for 5 years. So, I have a huge gaping hole in my resume. DVR suggested that I use a summary type resume, and I have prepared one, but employers are wanting a detailed resume, and I don't really want to tell them that I have not been working if I can. If I do, I'm automatically disqualified because every single employer I've shared this with said they need RECENT EXPERIENCE. So I don't know what to do.
thanks

I had an interview with a bank on Wednesday. The interview lasted 2 hours. Well, since that interview went so well, they set up another one with the branch manager and it only lasted 34 minutes! Do you think that it's a bad omen to have such a short interview??? Did I just screw myself out of a job???

I'm doing a persuasive speech to influence people to buy hybrid cars (it's for college speech class). I'm focusing on the financial benefits (i.e. savings on gas) but reports from consumer protection and Newsweek indicate that the savings on gas with a hybrid are not enough to consider buying one.

The research says that after maintanence costs, insurance, the extra premium to buy hybrids, and so forth that the savings on gas do not add up. It only says that you should buy if you are environmentally conscious and that's not what I'm focuing my speech on.

HELP.

Need sources and articles that say otherwise. Didn't the price of hybrids fall??

I've got a lot of household products I want to sell on eBay but I don't want to ever wait in line at the Post Office again. It's getting horrible where I live. Can I just buy the boxes, tape, packing material, etc. then drop it off in a drop box without waiting in line? Is there a size limit to how large will fit in the self-serve drop box?

Thanks mucho (that's Spanglish, the official language of the USA)

I heard that despite "qualifying" for social security many years ago, I have to be employed for 14 months immediately prior to starting to collect. If I retire at 50, I am not eligible to collect SS yet, but because I won't be working immediately prior to turning 62 (earliest to collect) I will lose all SS benefits. Is this true?

They were not aware of this and do not have that kind of cash. Friend accepted a sellers offe and papers were signed. if transaction cannot go through foreclosure is likely. I think this is due to a 2nd mortgage or refinancing when the home was worth more. Friend had to move to accomodate a recently disabled adult.
County would not allow first home to be modified. Any ideas how to settle this issue? They are using a realtor.

So here's my situation - I'm 21 years old. I started working at 15 as a receptionist, then moving to various other jobs (none lasting more than 5 months) including bartending and waitressing. At 18 I met my husband, got fired from my waitressing job, became pregnant, got married and have since been a stay-at-home mom. My husband and I are recently separated and I need to find work that will earn me enough money to support myself and my 2-year old son. I have experience as a receptionist, but its been years since I've been one, and I'm looking to work in reception, or even try my luck as being an office assistant. Problem is, its been a few years since I've worked and earned an income, and I need to figure out a way to market myself as a desirable candidate despite everything. I would work my butt off and do whatever it takes to provide for my family. Any ideas on what I should do?

my husband and I were facing foreclosure with our divroce and consulted with a company that helped struggling homeowners out of their existing loans. I decided to go with this company to help me.

I signed a quitclaim deed and the company cut my husband and I a check each for $1000. I was told the rest of the documentation would be mailed to me. It never was.

I am looking to buy another house and pulled my credit report. I learned that this house was never sold & the mortgage is still in my name. The 'company" i sold the house to, fixed it up and now has a renter there making payments to MY mortgage company in MY name......is this legally still my house? If the "comapny" that bought it tried to sell it...wouldnt the sale check be cut to me? Im confused!

somehow this doesnt add up and i dont think it sounds legal. Should I consult with an attorney?
Can someone give me some insight?

I am asking this tax question about the state of Texas, in the USA. I am looking for someone to help me answer this question for my own self, I did not file my taxes for the year of 2006, cause the amount of money was under $1000. and the College online financial advisor told me that it was not necessary for such a small amount for the to file. Unless I wanted the money to come back to me and go throught the hassel of filing.
Can someone help answer this for me?
I would appreciate some information that I could either help me to links to find the answer, or someone can just tell me the answer.
Thank you for your help.
