I am Lease trk driver/operator. I fell in june off the trailor with a 130 pound tarp in my arms and went thru knee surgery and am getting ready to go through thru surgery on my arm. My ins. co's response to what if i cannot go back to my job is you get 3yrs per injury as far as support. after that it is your baby. Man after years of paying insurance premiums and this is what you get!! I spent 8yrs in the Army and am now currently enrolled at Devryu to finish my degree in Network and Communications. Just goes to show you ; stay on top of it.

Workers comp benefits are defined by state law. So, your insurance company is doing what the state workers comp board SAYS they must do.

Yes, you don't get to retire on full pay early, because you don't want to work a different job.

If you're disabled, then you can try to get SSDI benefits. If you're not disabled enough for that, and you don't have private disability coverage (which, btw, after two years, ALSO reverts to "any occupation")

Time for a new career.

I gather that you are or were a self-employed individual, with individual coverage for loss of wages. My guess is that you are getting what is specified in your insurance policy. Sad to say, most folks don't bother to read the levels of coverage they get when they buy a policy. They just look for price (and they usually get what they pay for) Sorry for your situation, but at least you have three years to prepare for different work.
