I've got a lot of household products I want to sell on eBay but I don't want to ever wait in line at the Post Office again. It's getting horrible where I live. Can I just buy the boxes, tape, packing material, etc. then drop it off in a drop box without waiting in line? Is there a size limit to how large will fit in the self-serve drop box?

Thanks mucho (that's Spanglish, the official language of the USA)

If you ship your items via Priority or Express Mail, you can arrange for the postman to pick up your items for free

Here's the USPS website containing information and instructions on how to sign up for this service http://www.usps.com/pickup/welcome.htm

Media mail and parcel post mails are not included in the free service

USPS will pick up parcel post, in addition to priority and express mails, if you pay $14.95 per pickup regardless of how many boxes you have

Or talk to your postman and ask him/her how to go about it without you spending additional fees other than shipping costs. But you will need to have a scale to weigh the items to make sure that you will provide accurate postage. Otherwise you run the risk of the mails being returned to you for insufficient postage -- which can anger your customer

Yes you can ship without going through the line. My friend has an online store. She only ships Priority Mail. Boxes and tape are free through the postal service. Then she weighs the box and uses http://stamps.com/welcome/ to print her mailing label and pay for the postage. she uses a hook at her mail box to attach the boxes in a plastic bag for the mail carrier to pick to up.

They will do pickup if you have boxes going out daily.

Otherwise the best times are 8:30am to 10am and 1:20pm to 2:30pm, when everyone is at work and not taking lunch or trying to get in fast before or after work.

Talk to your local post office, they'll have all the information you need to know.

I think Sri Vidya Rajgopalan has given the correct answer. But the Answer is very long. Let me explain you in short. Ram built a Bridge instead of ship because he thought, if in the war with Ravana more army of Varana is required then it will be easy to bring reinforcement through a Bridge Than to send ship.

Stamps.com and paypal.com both provide USPS labels electronically. Assuming it's not an insane quantity or items you're shipping per-day. You can give the items to your mailman to take to the post office. This is how we always do it with our business.

go to www.usps.com --you can get the information and packaging that you need there. You can also make arrangements to have your stuff picked up at home if it has prepaid postage on it (you'll need an accurate scale).
