My boss is on a serious 'power trip', and treats us minions like little children; talking down to us, blatantly lying to us and generally making us feel like we are his little slaves.
He is currently putting me under a lot of pressure, and I'm getting more and more wound up and angry about the situation. Being a relatively placid, non-confrontational person I find it really difficult to challenge him and tell him some home truths about the way he treats me and my colleagues, and basically say that he's asking too much of me. Some of my colleagues have challenged him for the exact same reasons, but seem to get nowhere. He has a way of getting what he wants and giving nothing back, and you only realise when you've walked away that you've 'been had' again! He really isn't a very nice person, (in the office, at least!).
Can anyone suggest how I could, either pluck up the courage to confront him or, subtly make him realise I can't cope with the pressure anymore. Long question, sorry! :)

My son came to me this past summer and asked if I knew of any way he could make some money to buy a quad-runner. We live in a small town and there is not much to do or opportunities to make money....so I told him I'll think on it a while.

So I was in town and noticed people getting their new licence plates at the licence bureau and saw several woman & older people putting on the plates and some looked like they were having a hard time...then my IDEA!

I told my son to go to the licence bureau each day with my eletric screw driver and a couiple of hand tools and ask people if you can plut their plates on for a small fee

this was 2 Months ago....he does this every day from 3-7 and 4 hours on Saturdays.

Yesterday...there is a brand new Quad-runner in the garage..one that cost 6.5K
I asked him about it and he say's he bought it....then I question him further....turns out he's charging $5 to put on the plates and is doing 35-50 people PER DAY...and makes over $200 CASH DAILEY

Hi,
I am leaving in South Carolina state and work in Texas state on travel basis. Texas state doesn't have any state tax whereas South Carolina state has the state tax. My employer is generating paystub with SC state tax but not as per the Texas state rules. They are giving an explanation saying that even I work in any no-taxable state, the paystub is generated as per the home state where you are living.
Is it true? Is yes can anyone give me a link where this as been explained.

Regards,
Naveen

Husband & I refinanced our home 1.5 yrs ago to pay off his college loans & our joint credit card debt. We qualified for a "110% loan," leaving us with no equity. Plan was to not sell for quite some time. However, we're now divorcing.

1st mortgage = $160k, 2nd mortgage = $50k ($210k total).
Home's current value is ~$170k. Husband accepts responsibility for debt from his college loans ($42k). He also agrees that I get $10k "credit" for original down payment which came out of my personal savings. I will probably stay in the home for a few years; it's not in our best interest to sell now given the $ situation & housing market. Based on my assumptions & calculations, to "buy him out" he actually owes me $72k. Correct? Lawyer recommends not refinancing & leaving husband's name on mortgages so he feels more pressure to pay, or me refinancing with parents cosigning to reduce payments but then husband has no financial responsilibity to mortgage company, only to me. Recommendations??

Trying to become more knowledgable with finances. If I put $400 into a CD for 6-months with a 4.35% APY...what exactly does that mean? I'm a little confused.
Thanks in advance.

I have recieved packages for the previous owner of my house on 4 occasions now. She worked for a major food company and these are being sent from vendors, to her name AND the company for which she works. The first few times I called DHL and UPS and was given the run around, they wanted tracking numbers and wasted too much of my time. Eventually I was told to leave them outside and they would retrive them. I just recieved another package today and I'm tired of calling DHL or UPS to have them fix this issue. Wouldn't those companies track it back to my house eventually and come for it? In other words, can I just skip calling them and wait for them to come pick it up on their own, and if they don't, after a month or so, can I just toss the package out? It really has become a waste of my time and a problem for me. Thank you.

has increased from $500 to $9,206 with my latest renewal! I don't live in an area that has hurricanes very often either! I have had Metlife for over 20 years with never any claims. The only way to get a lower deductible is if I have unbreakable windows or motorized storm shutters. The premium has gone down $200 but I would rather have the $500 deductible.
Anyone else heard of this or is it just Metlife?

Rates are dropping, and even though I have a great LTV and payment history my adj. rate mortgage just jumped to 10.11%. I know what I signed and realize they can, but why jack it so high they force me into foreclosure? Then they cry that they need bailing out? I don't think so - I think mortgagees need bailing out from unscrupulous lenders. I have already contacted them and they said...........blah...blah......you signed.......... up the rate if you want to but raise it 4%?!

Right now I have a credit card with a very high rating, nearly 33% because I missed a bunch of payments. Now I am paying off the debt but I just received an offer from Capital One to switch the acocunt to them with a 13% interest rate.

I know that holding a credit card is better for your credit rating than cancelling it, but what about switching the account to a new provider?
