I have recieved packages for the previous owner of my house on 4 occasions now. She worked for a major food company and these are being sent from vendors, to her name AND the company for which she works. The first few times I called DHL and UPS and was given the run around, they wanted tracking numbers and wasted too much of my time. Eventually I was told to leave them outside and they would retrive them. I just recieved another package today and I'm tired of calling DHL or UPS to have them fix this issue. Wouldn't those companies track it back to my house eventually and come for it? In other words, can I just skip calling them and wait for them to come pick it up on their own, and if they don't, after a month or so, can I just toss the package out? It really has become a waste of my time and a problem for me. Thank you.

Thank you for the answeres. I have called the previous owner and left a vioce mail the first time it happened. I can't call the vendor because it has been 4 seperate vendors. The vendor today is a major hotel chain. When I spoke to a vendor the first time, he told me they were perishable and packed in dry ice and not to open them. There were 5 packages in that shipment. I had opened one before I called, they were not perishable, they were samples of new food products that aren't on the shelf yet. I assume they were meant to be a secret or untested and not for public viewing.

It seems a shame that you should have to waste your time because the former owner never updated her address with her suppliers. The best person to notify is the sender or you will continue to get these parcels. Another possibility is to send a note to her company addressed to her and tell her that she needs to update her vendors or you will be disposing of future packages. All of this requires effort on your part. It sounds like these are gifts from her vendors and not things that she ordered or paid for. Most likely they wont be asking for them back so I would be very tempted to enjoy them myself.
