Hi,
I am leaving in South Carolina state and work in Texas state on travel basis. Texas state doesn't have any state tax whereas South Carolina state has the state tax. My employer is generating paystub with SC state tax but not as per the Texas state rules. They are giving an explanation saying that even I work in any no-taxable state, the paystub is generated as per the home state where you are living.
Is it true? Is yes can anyone give me a link where this as been explained.

Regards,
Naveen

Unless you live in Texas, and call it your residence, you would have tax taken from your pay check. You sound like you travel on company business, but that you live in South Carolina. Where you actually travel to is not considered in your taxes, otherwise you could have to file tax returns in every state you visit.

What state do you consider your home to be in? That is the state that you would or would not be taxed in.

If you are a SC resident you pay income tax to SC on your world-wide income. So, yes, your employer is correct.
