I want to sell cars for a living but the only place that called me for the job is a GMC/Pontiac/Buick place. I don't like those vehicles and don't know if I could work selling them if I don't like them. Know what I mean? I'd rather sell the types of cars I like. Should I go work there, learn, get experience, then go work for dealer of cars I like? Feel free to elaborate.

But it takes five days to reach the credit card company. So does this mean that i have not payed my full balance as there will be an extra 5 days intrest for the cash? If this is so how do you ever pay it off, because it will be always take 5days for money to reach them? ARRRRRR MY HEAD HURTS>> HELP.

Figures we'll use are home purchased at $215,000, sold at $275,000 with $30,000 in upgrades and realtor expenses/closing costs (net of $30,000 it appears) within a 15 percent tax income bracket. I'm an idiot on this subject and appreciate your help. I understand the more than 2 year ownership rule but have to sell at 15 months without any of the 3 allowable tax breaks (medical, employment, etc.).

I was terribly lazy in college and did not file my tax returns as I did not make much money and didn't really worry about getting $100 back from Uncle Sam. I figure I should probably go ahead and get these done, but the oldest is from 5 years ago. How far back can I go to file these returns? My brother tells me he thinks it is only 3 yrs back, but he's pretty much just guessing. Can someone clarify thsi for me?

and clothing on my taxes for my work. I am employed, not an independant contractor. I go to the location in my town twice a week, and travel 66 miles 3 days a week to another town. I don't stay over night though. My FA told me that I can claim my meals, and haircuts and clothing costs as an expense for tax deductions. I thought you could only claim meals if you stay overnight? Can I really claim my haircuts and clothing? I don't have a uniform, just a business casual dress code, and neat, kept appearance. Can someone clarify this for me? I already knew I can claim the mileage, but the other things threw me off.

My parents are gifting me $50,000 for down payment on a house. I they can give me $12,000 per year/each, but that we have to file form 709 with the IRS. But I would think that as the receiver I would have to file this form with my 1040, but from what I find in the internet, it would be my parents who file the 709. Anfy answers would be most appreciated.

He came to my office unanounced with some other staff person and looked around. I saw them and looked up. I said are you checkiing out this p-hole we call an office? My tone was light and joking. He responds by saying at least you have a job. then he goes c'mon I have consultants here. But by his initial answer I was taken aback. He asked me a question about the office and then left. I may have been somewhat out of place but if he is threatening my job I feel that is harsh. Should I take that comment as a threat to my job? Is it legal for employers to say things like that to employees?

I make a meager amount each year and yet survive and have savings for a home but the mortgage company says I do not make enough money to qualify for the loan, yet the house payment is 450 LESS than my current rent. I know others who have home loans that earn less then I do. How can I get a home loan for 100,000? The home prices are getting outrageous.

I was under the impression that once your debt goes to collection, it will stay on your record (credit score, etc.) for 7 years. After that, it will be erased from your credit and you will have "no credit" instead of "bad credit". I know this is what a lawyer friend told me like 5 years ago, but now I'm hearing that they changed this to 10 years on your record, and some even say that it's permanent now. Does anyone know about this?

We are a family of 3, annual income about $21k. We have about $5k in credit cards, $7k in medical bills, $14k in student loans, and $2k in miscellanous debts (utilities, etc.) As well as about $15k in personal debts that we intend to repay. What, if anything, would we be able to bankrupt? We live in Michigan, btw.

In 2003 I was ill and had major surgery. I was out on medical leave for approximately 8 weeks after being ill for over a year and a half and being hospitalized. When it came time to review my performance, my boss said my work performance was sub-par and denied my raise. Is this legal? Also, is there a statute of limitations - I would really like to file a claim against my employer for lost wages. And yes, after all this time it still bugs me!

I was just wondering how hard it was to get a creit card from Davids Bridal, and if anyone knew. My credit is not good at all and I am trying to re build my credit. I am getting married in Sept so thought that this would be a good way to try and rebuild my credit, but do not know how they are on credit scores and approving applications. Any comments would be great! Thanks
