Your best bet is your own bank. Most banks and check-cashing places charges you for cashing a check. If you have an account at a bank or credit union, they'll usually cash it for you for free. Now, depending on how much this check is, there could be a waiting period. I had a large check one time and they gave me $500 cash and the rest in about 4-7 days; they just want to make sure the check is good. If you don't have a bank account, try calling the bank that issued the cashier's check to see if they'll cash it for you for free. But then if you don't mind paying a small fee, you can take the cashier's check to any bank, credit union or check cashing place but it could cost you.

Your bank may require you to deposit it and allow it to clear. The bank that issued it must cash it if you present it and properly identify yourself. So if you want the money in cash and quickly, then go to the bank that drew the check.
