We have a joint checking account. Money is tight. I have tried talking to him but he ignores me when I bring it up. Told me not to worry about it.

Can someone find me a list of credit cards that don't make a hard inquiry when they review your application? Maybe one that would just check my w-2 and current pay stub and even take a copy of my credit report? Thanks for your time.

I keep hearing about how the government needs to help people who signed variable rate morgages. They knew what they were getting into when they signed. Now their rates are rising and the mortgages are foreclosing because these people irresponsibly bit off more than they could chew. These buyers drove up home prices to the levels they are at now in the first place. Levels so high, that someone like myself who is financially responsible and realizes their litmitations can't possibly afford housing (I live in NYC). Now the gov't is supposed to bail these people out? Who's going to bare the burden of that cost? I have a guess... John Q Taxpayer. Does anyone else think this is crap? Does anyone else think we should let all these mortgages forclose to bring the cost of housing back down to a reasonable level?

What's your opinion?

If we don't want to receive truckloads of pre-approved and unsolicited credit card offers why do we have to "OPT-OUT" of the credit bureaus, instead of the other way around. That is we would have to specifically "OPT-IN" to receive this kind of junk mail or telemarketing.

After all these pre-approved credit card offers endanger a person and makes it easy for his/her identity (and money) to be stolen.

With the tanking housing market, I believe that I'm close to (if not already) having a CLTV > 90%. As I understand it right now, many big lenders are using CLTV < 90% as the standard. Is it common for already existing mortgage/HELOC rates to readjust or fees be imposed if CLTV increases any further or even possibly becoming upside down? If it matters, property is SFR in Calif and lender is Countrywide.

For those who have not heard gas is going up to $4.00 ++
for now reason get some NOW
I have a plan get your congress to do something
gas price relative to event

Refinery problems .02
Hurricane raise .05
other natural distater .05
major warfare within 2,000 miles of US imported oil .10
major warfare within 1,000 miles of US imported oil .15
major warfare within 500 miles of US imported oil .25

To raise gasoline prices for NO reason is only done by the those NY commodity traders (BAD GUYS) for little or no reason
LETS all boycott GAS at $4.00 + as long as we can
because there is no reason for gas to be that high heck the futures for NOV gas are set and less than what they are charging... go figure..

VOTE and BOYCOTT...

My husband owns a home with his father. On the original deed is- My husband, his father and his ex wife. On the mortgage is my husband and his father (not the ex wife)
My husband got the house when he divorced his ex wife.
He lived in it for about 2 years after the divorce was final then when we decided to get married we wanted to sell it. When we put the for sale sign up his ex asked if she could buy it. We were in a hurry to move and said yes. We let her and the children move in under the conditions (verbal agreement) that she would secure her own financing. My husband signed a quit claim deed to her. His father did not. The quit claim deed was notarized but it was NOT filed. Now she is requesting that he sign another quit claim to her, I think because she lost the first one and it didn't have all the right info on it. We have been trying to get her to finance it for a year and she still hasn't. We are now weighing our legal options...what are they?

When she gave money to a girls school in South Africa, it seemed strange to me that her charitible efforts would stray so far from home. Everything happens for a reason, especially when money is involved. So, did Oprah accountants find a loophole in the tax laws? Is it better to give overseas, than at home, from a tax standpoint?

We are first time home buyers, we have yet to visit with a mortgage loan adviser. Between the two of us we will be making aprox. 90 grand a year with decent credit, only one vehicle, credit card and student loan payments (nothing outrageous at all).
What would be our estimate price rage we would be looking at for buying a home.
What are the main things loan officers look at when applying for a loan?
When you've qualified for a loan do you pay that along side of your monthly mortgage? Just a little confused... any info would help.
Thanks

How does Knowledge Management improve customer service & efficiency ?

I am stuck in a hard position. My company just hired someone to work with me in my department. I was part of the interview process and agreed that it would be good to hire her. However, she has been on the job for almost 2 weeks now and I can tell that we've made a mistake. Her skills are not at all like what she said they were in the interview--she is barely computer literate. This job is a very fast-paced environment and while she said in her interview that she could handle it, I already have my doubts since she still can't do the most simple assignment. She is the second "bad hire" we've had in this position in the past 6 months.

I have the feeling that I should cut the strings now. But am I just not giving her a chance? What is the best way to handle this situation? I'm not "the boss," but my opinion is very loud and strong in this matter, so I could very well be making the call here.
