Hi, I have $5000 at the end of the year. I would like to use it wisely and need someone's advice. Should I use the $5000 to pay a "portion" of higher-interest loan whose balance is at $40000 or should I use the $5000 to "Pay Off" lower-interest loan whose balance is at $4820? Any benefit of paying off the entire loan? Thank you in advance.

I have been anticipating buying a particular house. My house is on the market for 3 months with no bites. Realtor from sellers agency on house I want is not communicating well with my broker. I Asked to be told if and when there are any bids on that house. Was told by my broker there isn't any interest from anyone on that house. . Last night my broker called and told me that the house is in contract. We weren't even informed that there was a bid. Had we known we might've put one in. Is there any recourse? ( I know we don't have a buyer for my home yet but there was interest in it and the potential buyer is most likely going to put out an offer). Didn't I have the right to be informed of the bid so that I could've countered? I am so disappointed!! I could only hope that the contract doesn't go thru. By the way how long does it take to find out if the financing doesn't go thru? Who is more at fault, my agent or the the seller's?What would you do?

If you are allowed to invest £3k per year in an ISA and profit the interest tax free, what happens the year after?? Your intrest return say £180 (on average if that) will give you £3180 in your account after year 1, say you invest your limit the next year so there is 6k in your account, is the interest calculated on the 6k tax free? or do you only get a 3k tax allowance? and also, if that is the case and you decide to put your £180 (from year1) into another ISA (in year two) and max the investment potential in this (giving you at the end of year two, two ISAs each of 3k) do you recieve tax free interst from both accounts?

Confusing eh??

I'm in the process of interviewing for a job, and I have a major interview scheduled for next week, which I have been really excited about. It is spread out over two days, and involves talking with a lot of different people, all of whom have obviously taken time out of their schedules to meet with me.

Now, here's the problem. One of my parents is dying, and it appears that the end is very near. We have been told by the medical people that it could happen at any time. Obviously, if it should happen, I cannot just go merrily off to an interview - I have to support the other parent.

So, should I let the search firm know this now? I hate to bring negatives to the table, especially since there is a chance that it won't interfere at all, yet I also don't want to find myself having to call the day of the interview to cancel, wasting all of these people's time. How should I handle it?

Thinking of moving to a new business premises and looking at getting insurance for when we move in.

I've been filling in online quotes and I have been finding it asks me for a value for Business Records.

How do I know how much value to place in this area?

This is quite an odd one to me!

I see these jobs posted in the employment sections of the newspaper. I am a housewife looking for some part time work at home. The companies have websites where you have to purchase their software before you can start the data entry job. I just want to know if these companies are legitimate or if they're just a scam.

Several times a week, staff are asked by members of the local community to book a room or the hall in the main Community Centre building. Staff has to tell these enquirers that bookings are done via the Youth Service Business Manager at another location, and the enquirer should ring this person. It appears that most enquirers give up at this point, as the required hiring’s do not seem to materialise. The result is that the building remains largely unused despite its potential for being a useful community resource. It has also been suggested that the caretaking/cleaning arrangements be changed to save money.

Would you see these frequent requests for hiring’s as a problem and if so how would you tackle it, or support the management committee in tackling it?

Hi, we have a property that a gentleman who was supposed to be a friend of my husbands agreed to rent. Unfortunately we did not make him sign a contract since he was supposubly a friend. The gentleman moved in changed the locks and will not leave while he has never given us one single dime since occupying the home in July. We have served an eviction notice but gentleman still says he will not leave he claims he was never renting the property and that it is his property. Since he claims he never rented the property he's just freeloading in our property is their any restrictions on getting him out of the home or do we need to go all the way to court. Thank You

We have just had our mortgage application denied.

The financial advisor has now put the fear of god into us telling me that this was because of a few missed payments on a credit card. These happened over a year ago and this card has now been settled. He said that I had basically been black listed and I will not be able to obtain credit for 5 years!?

I'm feeling extremely depressed and have no idea how to make this better?
