NHS pay protection for associate specialist becoming SpR?

when an associate specialist becomes a registrar, the pay is protected. However, the trust is saying that the protected pay is not eligible for banding payments. Is this true ?

Have you spoken to other SpR's in a similar role to yours??..normally there is a person you can talk to in payroll who knows the new banding system for Agenda for Change..ring to find out.
