they didn't offer me a sign on bonus or any other perks. I am curious to know if that is a common thing for the Northern NJ area, or are they stiffing me.

They only offer a sign on bonus in high demand areas. I can't imagine northern New Jersey being one of those areas.

They only offer a bonus if they are extremely short handed in a certain area. No bonus in Texas either.
