besides the typical CPA or Attorney, what other professions are considered "professional" for tax deduction purposes? I learned that realtors can deduct alot ! I recently became a notary public, so I was wondering if that was eligible for deductions too...travel expenses etc

If a company sends you a bill that you believe is not accurate (in your favor), should you contact the company to ask them about it? would you just pay the bill and feel like you lucked out? if it happens again, would you then contact them to see why you're getting undercharged? if you pay them for months at a time all getting undercharged, can they come back months downt he road and say "hey, we undercharged you for 5 months. you now owe this amount...". would they be able to do that, or would you be able to argue that you were simply paying what they were asking you to?

so i work in retail in california, and every once in a while we'll get customers from oregon. since they are purchasing goods in OUR state, they have to pay our state and local taxes, and they claim that being a resident of oregon makes them exempt to all taxes anywhere they go.

do other states in the area (idaho, washington, etc.) honor the no-tax thing? why do some people from oregon think they won't have to pay california's tax even though they're shopping in california?

I would like to prepare taxes from home when the tax season comes. What do most people that prepare taxes charge for the differennt type of forms. What software do they use and is there any out there that resemble the software that H&R bkock uses? What type of legal things must i take care of before i can start this little side job? I have recently finished taking the basic tax preperation course with H&R Block.

I remember when things that were made in Japan were cheap pieces of sh*t. Now items that are made in Japan are of high quality..Will China ever enjoy this reputation, or will they continue to send us products that contain lead paint and food that kills?
