I have a tricky situation at hand. For 2007, the social security deductions from income are 6.2% upto the first 97500 of the income. So, the maximum SS tax one pays per year is $6045.

I was with employer A till August. After that I moved to employer B. My SS contributions at employer A were $5800. Now, my question is, how would the employer B come to know that I am nearing the maximum Social Security contribution and they should stop SS deductions after that? How would B know that I have already paid $5800 while at emplyer A?

My wife and I have about $7,000 in credit card debt, and about $10,000 available in our home's equity. Would it not be wise for us to do a refinance and take out the equity to pay off the credit card debt?

It's just an online simulation game by the way. But I can never find the really good stocks.

hello. I'm here for some advice. I'm stuck in a crappy situation. My debt is not a whole lot, but it's enough to drag me down, and put my credit at a nasty 500. And it's going to continue to go down if i can't get this paid off. I have called, and spoke to the places that i owe money to, but they are not willing to accept the amount of money i can afford to pay to them each month. I am currently 7 months pregnant with my second child, and trying to keep up with my 6 year old daughter, my current bills, and getting these people payed off i can't seem to get any where. I'm to the point where they will most likely start taking it out of my checks. I thought they had to accept what i could give to them. I don't know wher else to turn to. They are wanting the WHOLE payment now, or they said they will take it else where. I could really just use someones help, or someone to talk to. I have no family help, and my credits to bad to get a loan from the bank. Thanks in advance for your help

My car is totaled completely and need a new one by friday to get to work, I already took off tomorrow. The problem is I am 18 years old with no credit history. Also, I have a monday through friday job that gives me 250 a week but it is not a "typical" one. I am a nanny for two different families but they are both very stable. Do you think they will allow me to finance or not because of these circumstances?? Thanks!

I found a great investment property to buy but do not want my name on it. Is it reasonable to sign a deal with a partner where he buys the property under his name, he takes care of arranging the mortgage and downpayment, then we flip it meaning sell it within a couple months and split the profit 50% 50%? Is it fair to expect 50% of the profit becasue I found the property he would not be able to find without me, although I am not offering to pay anything/finance it? THANKS

My father-in-law is a contractor and agreed to build our house for us (my husband actually ended up doing the vast majority the contracting). My husband gave his father some blank, signed checks to pay subs with or buy materials. Recently, we had almost $15,000 worth of checks to Lowes clear the bank, checks written by the father-in-law. When asked what the items were, he replied appliances, even though we bought the appliances from Sears (and who really pays that much for appliances?). We stopped payment on the checks until FIL produces invoices to us and the bank. He has now threatened to put a lien on our house if we don't pay the $14,079.92. Can he do that? What should I do to keep this from happening? What are the repercussions?

I am not able to understand how the calculation of return works. When i look into the fund history, I see that the YTD performance is 8.74%. So if i had invested 2500$ i should have already got $200, but I havent.

so is the 8.74% that they claim is in capital gain or dividend ?
How do I know when the fund will actually pay the investor.

At 26 and with 2 B.A's i can't get a job interview in the Schaumburg/chicago area to save my life. I left CA and a pretty good paying career to start a new life in Illinois. Ive been here for about 3 weeks but havnt found ANYTHING. i apply to all kinds of stuff...even basic office work. nothing. I have experience supervising, presenting, writing, etc. etc. I've always gotten a job offer after every interview i've been on. i just cant get a damned interview! =( so today i just applied to macy's out of desperation. got the job today as well. and start tommorow at $9/hour.

I'm a little depressed about my life right now. But hopefully things will pick up.

I have 16 years of experience and cannot make more than 8.00 an hour. I have a 16 year old co-worker that was offered 12 for the same position. The reason my manager gave was because the other person was saving up to buy a car and he was helping her by giving her more money. I am a single parent and have never made more than 13000 a year. I cannot survive like that. This is driving me nuts. My nephew just got a job in my same area of work for 15.00 an hour. None of my jobs have offered me that kind of money. Why and what can I do about it?

Bookkeeping

The task of recording amounts, dates and sources of all business revenue, gain, expense and loss transactions; the starting point of the accounting process.

Maintaining records of the financial transactions of a business including details and copies of invoices and receipts, bank statements and other paperwork required for accounting purposes.

Bookkeeping
· Process payroll
· Process accounts payable and receivable
· Maintain a general ledger
· Prepare financial reports

Ok I know this much, but I was wondering if anyone could expand on this, go into detail and explain just how things are done, and the process of how to go about it. It would be good, if you were a bookkeeper if you could run through your day of work, or the things you need to do each week. I would be very happy and thankful if you did.

Thankyou
