I'm a banquet chef, so my busiest day is Saturday with weddings. I have a high school friend getting married this Saturday, and therefore requested the day off, which was okayed by my immediate supervisor, the Exec. Chef. There are three large weddings booked at my place of work this Saturday, so they'll be VERY busy and hectic. The Food and Beverage Director (the exec chef's boss) is very upset that I will not be there, and told the exec chef to find out when the last time I talked to my friend was, how we were friends, and how close we were. Does any of this even matter? Is the F & B director out of line for requesting this information? It is very frustrating to me to work your *** off for someone, and then, when you ask a favor, to get this kind of response.

My boss also owns a storage facility for large objects such as boats, campers, cars, etc. The problem is that he has one or two customers who won't respond to phone or mail asking for payment on their storage. We have a couple of items that have been stored for a couple of years and we are not getting paid. One owner was keeping us informed that he was having a difficult time because his wife had/has cancer and that he would pay when they get back on their feet. Well we havent heard from him in over a year.

In this instance, what can we do and how do we go about collecting or can we take possession of these items and sell them for back storage. How does this all work?

Thanks!

I hate the way my current company runs, to much office gossip. This is not my first job by far so I know its happens everywhere but still is to much.

A friend of mine was audited by the IRS for her 2004 tax return. In the initial communication, the IRS requested certain proof and documents which she promptly sent. Now she received a new letter stating that her return was adjusted and she owes $2,600 and must pay in ten days. She doesn't really understand why because she had her taxes done at a professional place located in NJ. It is called "Malqui Tax" which caters to the spanish population. She has done her taxes there for the past 3 years. They supposedly have audit protection. I advised her to contact "Malqui Tax" and have them provide audit defense but she can not get in touch with them. We googled the place and they have several locations in NJ and none of the phone numbers work. They are all disconnected. What can she do at this point? Thanks.

Feel free to go into details. I'm thinking of starting one but I want to know how owning my own business could potentially help me reduce my taxes and allow me to reap a higher profit. I posted this in a different section too just in case. Thanks in advance guys.

up for one but the thing is I want to RECORD my review. My boss is very "I can't even explain" but let me try. He is like a watch dog. He sees EVERYTHING. He is always looking over your shoulder and it's no just me he does this to EVERYONE. My first week everyone told me bad thing's about him and that he is the reason people quit and just last week he made a female worker CRY. I later heard him saying 'I'm sorry". I've heard people call him everything under the sun including CUT THROAT.My question is would it be a good idea to record my review just in case. Because what I'm dealing with here is no joke.

My idea for opening a internet cafe' is still in my head what do you think is it a good idea. My idea is have a very nice cozy place where people can read and go on the internet and have some coffee as well i would have set up so people can sit at a nice table and like a booth like and have lap tops on them and and people can look up what they need. now they would have a time frame to use the lap tops but when they finished they can go to another booth and read or drink there coffee

I'm still confused with that term, since we like the home we want them to build on a lot we select, but if the new home is already built and is ready for us to move in while my current home hasn't been sold yet. How long will it take for them to wait until my current house is being sold and will that new built home still belong to us and no other buyer can close on the new home?

Thanks!
