1) If the person you are dealing with has a generic email address (Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) they are a scammer.
2) If the person you are dealing with is asking you to pay some sort of upfront fee before you get the money, they are a scammer.
3) If they contacted you throught this or any other message board, they are a scammer.

They will have a consumer credit license. Find out what the number is.
Plenty of fairly dodgy people have them though so read any credit agreement carefully and get some advice before you sign.

Go to the FSA Register website and enter the company name....this website will inform you if they are Authorised or not.
