I remember when things that were made in Japan were cheap pieces of sh*t. Now items that are made in Japan are of high quality..Will China ever enjoy this reputation, or will they continue to send us products that contain lead paint and food that kills?

It'll turn around... Japan is a pretty good comparison. Now they have a good rep for good cheap goods... they don't want to lose that. The want the rep Japan has... good expensive goods!

Plus, the guys that are responsible for overseaing some of the regulations are getting executed. That would be solid motivation for good job performance for me.

Take a look at Lenovo, their booming cities, etc....

They will and they do, provided they're well supervised. Look at Lands' End, the famous US direct clothing merchants. Some of their clothes are manufactured in China and Hongkong, and Lands' End is supposedly known for their quality. It's when you give them free rein and don't check on them that's when they go bad on you.
